Fashion Week tipped-off early at Nicole Miller of Philadelphia inside the Bellevue at 200 South Broad Street 215-546-5007 with a special in-store sale benefiting Sixers Charities and the Comcast-Spectacor foundation. Guests were invited to meet Sixers Willie Green while they shop the spring 2010 collection. Happy hour refreshments and hors d’oeuvres will be available, compliments of Finlandia Vodka and The Palm Restaurant.

The event was held last Wednesday evening and Spring was in the air as the fashionable store has switch seasons. The special shopping event was from 3PM til 8PM and I stopped by about 5:30PM and was greeted by a fairly packed house of happy shoppers.
Charisse Jordan, wife of Head Coach Eddie Jordan, was trying on a new springtime Nicole Miller dress in blue while gazing at a very popular rain coat. I saw at least three of those raincoats at the register with their new owners.

PAWS champion Dana Spain and CCD’s Michelle Shannon pick up a few things for the busy upcoming social events like the Epilepsy Foundation’s Mardi Gras Gala Tuesday 2/16/10, TheFlower Show Preview Gala on 2/27/10 or Dancing with the Philadelphia Stars in March.
Ohh I love these glasses.
The Kobe mozzarella sandwich from The Palm was delicious as were the Teuscher Chocolates .
The Little Black Dress Wine’s provided the spirits. (& I have to say the server was amazing and right on top of all the information regarding the wine with the neat name.)
Just back from Jimmy Rollins and Johari Smith’s wedding in the Cayman Islands Nina Tinari couldn’t pass up picking up a little something from her favorite shop. What do you think? For one thing I think Blue is the new Black for spring, wouldn’t you say so. Next to Nina is Mariska Bogle and Sean Reilly. What a great guy Sean is to come along to help Mariska pick out a few new things for her Spring wardrobe.
At around 7PM our hostess made a few comments before passing the mike over to the recipient charities. “We are pleased to partner with Sixers Charites to help improve the health of our community during this Valentine’s Day promotional season,” said Mary Dougherty, owner of Nicole Miller of Philadelphia.
“We are so fortunate to be working with Nicole Miller Philadelphia,” said Comcast-Spectacor Foundation Senior Vice President Mary Ann Saleski. “Nicole Miller’s spring line-up is dynamic and exciting and we’re so grateful to Nicole and her store here in Philadelphia who are so willing to partner with the Sixers Charities and the Comcast-Spectacor Foundation to help give back to the community in which we all live.”

As the night came to a close the team that put the event together certainly deserved a big hand as sales were brisk and and monies were raised for the Six
Green also signed copies of the Sixers Charities children’s book, “From A to Zone D”. I got one and will be looking for additional Sixers signatures so that I may donate it to an upcoming charity.
