SMOKE (Cigars & stuff) SHOP OPENS NEAR RITTENHOUSE SQUARE & Shortly a new Cigar Bar

A little over a year I wrote about a head shop opening up near Rittenhouse Square. It didn’t last long, and I’m sure it was more about aesthetics than products. It always seemed a bit shady too, but that’s all changed with the new store that has taken it’s place.
Chock full of similar items, cigarettes, pipes, tobacco, Hookahs, but they also carry cigars
and many brands for the cigar connoisseurs, which are in custom made Cigar humidors .

Business partners and long time friends who enjoy a hookah once in awhile, John V and John A out side their new smoke shop – Smokin Stogies n Stuff at 102 S. 18th St Phone number 215-454-2850, next to Sweet Ending. I think the store front is a huge improvement over the last tenant; and the guys still have more work to do. They are planning to put up an awning, and a 6 foot Indian Statue, great for picture opps especially when the Phanatic’s are all sold off.

Update: Just down the street is the new Stephen Starr restaurant the concept is English pub — don’t call it a gastropub! — but this is a Stephen Starr production, so don’t expect greasy fish and chips. He’s inspired by (and is maybe, possibly negotiating a partnership with the owners of) clubby New York resto-bar the Spotted Pig.

Covered nicely in this posting by The Restaurant Club’s Kirsten Henri Here
Starr continues his domination of the restaurant landscape. Soon we will have either a Starr Restaurant or a Garces on every block, in every which way you can turn.
Looks like it’s moving along as their liquor license application has been approved, but still no name.
