Recently I attended the Flower Show press conference at the Top of the Loews,
Monday is LGBT Night,
bridal parties should check out Wedding Wednesday,
Thursday is Girls’ Night Out, and
Mothers and Daughters will be invited to celebrate with the Philadelphia affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure on Friday.
Family Day on the final Sunday will be a great way to introduce the young ones to the world of gardening. The Flower Show has always been focused on families, but this year the activities are bigger and better than ever! In conjunction with Universal Studio’s 2012 release of “The Lorax,” PHS has arranged a meet-and-greet with the Lorax himself! Say hello and snap a picture with the tree-loving creature and characters PBS KIDS Sprout television on Sundays, March 4 and March 11 from 2 – 5 pm.
Some events require reservations, so please check theflowershow.com for details.
Another thing happening at the 2012 Philadelphia International Flower Show, an “Iron Chef”-like competition for creating floral arrangements, and my favorite, 10 chefs from all over the United States celebrating 70 years of the publication of Organic Gardening magazine, where chefs will create locally sourced dishes for flower show guests.
