Creed 2 Update, Biden Gives Good Face and Hello Riley Rado-Kaplan

Creed 2 Update, Biden Gives Good Face and Hello Riley Rado-Kaplan

Hello PhillyChitChat readers, what a week. We are in the middle of a very busy Social Season. On Sunday I will post links to where all the photos went in my various media outlets. In the meantime here’s a little Philly Chit Chat Gossip

Congrats to our good friends the Kaplan’s as their grandson is born –

Baby:  Riley Rado-Kaplan
Born:  4/5/2018
Weight:  4lbs, 10oz.
Health: Wonderful (even though 4 weeks early and small)
Despite “peanut” size, has big feet, big hands and lots of dark hair (just like the father)
Father: Stuart Kaplan, 36 yrs old
Mother: Sarah Rado, 33 yrs old
Grandparents: (Absolutely Thrilled!!!) Harold and Carol Kaplan
Mother, Father and Riley are all doing well.  Grandparents are ecstatic!!

Speaking of chips off the old block, Sylvester Stallone welcomed daughter Sistine Stallone to Philly last week and gave her a tour of his old stomping grounds the Italian Market, as well as stop at the Rocky Statue to the delight of tourist. I suspect he’ll be stopping there again soon to film scenes. Tonight Creed 2 is filming at Eastern State Prison, as well as Rembrant’s nearby – it’s a Russian nightclub scene, look for the painted snow on the grass again.  Rocky won’t be nearby though, he’s off this week and part of next week – do expect to see Michael B Jordan and Tessa Thompson though.

Last night Creed 2 and Michael B Jordan filmed at Max’s Cheese Steak in North Philly. And by last night I mean all night long until this morning they were filming scenes inside and outside the famed spot. Kevin Hart may have made a cameo in the film as well since there’s a mural of his face on the front of the building at the 2nd floor level

Speaking of faces Joe Biden was in town on Tuesday night. The former Vice President  was honored at the Only In America Gala supporting the National Museum of American Jewish History at the Bellevue! At the event The Palm Philadelphia General Manager Julie Sloviter and former PREIT Executive Chairman Ron Rubin presented Joe Biden with his framed Palm caricature. (Photo Credit The Palm)

Guests also enjoyed music from Idina Menzel and students from the Girard Academic Music Program (GAMP).They sang her big hit “Let It Go” from the movie Frozen. She also sang Defying Gravity, from Wicked. Check back on Sunday for links to this event as well as the half dozen parties PhillyChitChat *the whole team, shot this week. Thanks, don’t forget your umbrella!! Best wishes HughE

East Passyunk Avenue presents its second annual Flavors on the Avenue street festival featuring five blocks and six hours of food, drink, music, shopping and free family fun.

More than two dozen of the region’s best restaurants will fire up street food, small plates, signature dishes out in the street, on Philadelphia’s restaurant row. Look for some of Philadelphia’s biggest culinary names (Chefs Nick Elmi, Joncarl Lachman, Lee Styer, Christopher Kearse) to serve right outside their front doors.

East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District presents Flavors on the Avenue street festival on Sunday, April 29, 2018, from 11:00am to 5:00pm. Creed 2: Milo Ventimiglia – This Is Us – Returns and More from the Set

Creed 2: Milo Ventimiglia – This Is Us – Returns and More from the Set of Creed 2

It’s Friday, do the Friday dance as we say on WOGL every Friday morning after I deliver the breakfast buzz. Today on air we talked about what happened on the set of Creed 2 this week. In case you missed it I’ll go over it again with you:

Earlier this week Creed 2 filmed a few scenes in South Philly at 19th and Porter. The scene had Rocky Balboa arriving in a Vancouver, yes Vancouver, in a Vancouver cab to visit his son Robert Balboa Jr. and his family who now live in the Canadian city.

Better known to this generation as Jack Pearson in the very popular “This Is Us”, Milo Ventimiglia  played Rocky’s son in the 2006 Rocky Balboa. The original actor who played Rocky’s son, was Sly Stallone’s own son Sage Stallone
who passed away in 2012. Milo Ventimiglia was also on The Gilmore Girls series in the 00s.
So Philly not only did Jason Kelce get married this past week, but Jack Pearson SLEPT here.

Tuesday Rocky headed to the Laurel Hill Cemetery to visit his corner man and best friend Paulie, who has died in the movie in 2012 the tombstone says (In real life Burt Young is alive and well), and his wife Adrian Balboa.  Shortly after Rocky look a like Mike Kunda took this shot, the ground around the tombstones were painted with “white snow” to create a winter scene.

In a sense Creed 2 is tugging at our old school Rocky heartstrings with cameos with Brigitte Nielsen, Milo Ventimiglia in the flesh, and Paulie and Adrian in the spirit. BTW Brigitte and Milo are not listed on the official Creed II IMDB

Wednesday Creed 2 filmed inside The Linc, home of the Superbowl Champions – The Phila Eagles, the scene was a Russian fight held in Moscow. Actors and extras were dressed in very heavy winter clothing, which wasn’t a stretch for us here in Philly during the Winter of 2017 which refuses to end. While on site Sylvester Stallone grabbed a shot with the Lombardi Trophy. They’re back in Sun Center Studios for the next 3 days  to finish us a few fight scenes there with extras sitting in the “stadium”, then I hear in the Art Museum area. Stay tuned. Follow me on Instagram for the latest

Home at last !!!

Speaking of the Eagles – Monday I did social media around Jason Kelce’s wedding to Kylie McDevitt at the Logan Hotel (I didn’t have time for a proper post). IT BLEW UP, as the day went on I added vendors and additional info to my post on Instagram, and Twitter to the point where nearly all the media in Philly began writing about it, with proper credit to moi which I really appreciate. In hindsight I wish I had done a blog post as my personal SM posts garnered over 100ks views. It’s great I love that everyone was excited about their wedding. I reached out to the official photographer and connected her with the media including Philadelphia Magazine. Here’s the result of PM’s write up which is really indepth – JASON AND KYLIE WEDDING

I have tried to track down the original photographers of the photos that appear on PCC, but I couldn’t find them all as others have posted them on message boards without credit. If one of these shots is yours and you can prove it, I would be happy to give you credit.

So I’ve been collecting some of my favorite shots for the past 5 years. These are not people shots, and I have a whole bunch more where these came from. The above is from Montana. i was there 4 years ago during the great Forrest fire. Every day the sky was full of smoke, sometimes it invaded my hotel room too.
