City of Hope presents Wildcats – its annual Hair Ball event. What is a hair ball?
Well, other than what your cat hacks-up, it is one crazy hair fashion show and dance that is always packed to the gills!!! These crazy cats drove up from West Virginia, thank you very much. (I’ve misplaced my holy bible pad and for my late night readers you know its 2:30AM and I just don’t have the patience to look for it, but I really do appreciate these folks for supporting the HairBall)

New York’s Fashion Week has nothing on the runway show at Hairball, the East Coast’s largest annual hair design competition. Models sporting outrageous themed hair designs will paraded on the catwalk at the Hyatt Regency on Philadelphia’s waterfront (Penn’s Landing) L-R my high school friend of 20 years Jodie Shaw (Splitting Hairs Salon, Audubon NJ, a cat, a hottie Kenny and PR Style Diva Sarah Doheny.
another hottie with a painted on Eagles Shirt with a thing or two on his mind. More than 275 stylists will put their shears to work for the coveted top spots, including “Most Intricate Design” and “Most Fabulous Head-to-Toe Look.”
Our friends at Wired 96.5 – Salons are invited to compete in Hairball after hosting a HopeCuts event on Nov. 9 and raising a minimum of $200 for research at their event. Hairball is open to the public. No tickets are issued; a $20 cover is requested at the door. All proceeds benefit cancer and HIV/AIDS research, treatment and education at the world-renowned City of Hope National Medical Center and Beckman Research Institute. Besides the hair competition, their was a themed costume contest. Since tonight’s theme was you guessed it, Safari, well we got a Tarzan and Jane.

or more. I had a chance to speak with one of the cannibal’s mom’s. I asked her how he got the gig, mom said “He heard from a friend that the Phoenix Salon and Spa was looking for a jungle boy, he went down, I guess they liked his body and he was hired.”

entertainment that was amazingbut I had to leave before the event was judge. Matt V threw a little shindig for Jimmy C and I was off to Mercato at 9:30PM and unfortunately missed more than half the competition, but next year watch out!! But L A Hair, won the hair competition.
