Sad to hear about the terrible news regarding Natasha Richardson. I would be surprised if it didn’t come out today or tomorrow that she has passed away. My father had a similar accident hitting his head in a fall in his kitchen, no blood or trauma visible. Within an hour became confused, was rushed to the hospital, airlifted to a Miami hospital from Key West, kept on life support until we flew down from Phila. Disconnected and then passed away a few hours later.
The first time I saw Natasha Richardson on the screen was in the movie “Parent Trap” with Lindsay Lohan. The first time I saw her in public was leaving the after party of “Dreamgirls” in NYC. They had a love affair that began on Broadway in 1992 while perfoming in Anna Christie . They were a NYC couple, living, working and raising their family there.
I saw them often, and there was denying the love they had for each other, and for their fans. This was the last photo I took of Natasha Richardson, maybe the last professional one ever taken of her. It was a few weeks back (2/5/09) as she was looking for her car when she departed an amfAR New York Gala to Kick Off Fall 2009 Fashion Week at Cipriani on 42nd Street. After posing for me, signing for the autograzzi and posing for a fan she waved with a smile. Love her, will miss her.
Earlier today I wrote about my father, his passing and how we spread his ashes on St. Patrick’s Day in 2005. You must read the entry regarding the miracle we experienced the day we spread his ashes.

The New York Post, says Richardson is brain dead, reports that the actress \”is being transported to New York this afternoon so her mom Vanessa Redgrave, two children and other loved ones can say goodbye before she\’s taken off life-support.\”
She\’s not dead, I haven\’t read anywhere that she is
She would not have been flown on a pressurized airplane with a brain injury, unless she was dead.

I have grown to respect your column being a Gerry fan and all but whilst you may be right I think until it is reported officially I think you are a bit out of order being so brutal wuth your headlines. I am not aware it has been officially reported
I have to agree with the above post. It is not responsible journalism to state something as a fact until it is a fact, not to mention hurtful to her family. Although all signs point to the outcome, I think out of respect to a person\’s life we must wait before making such statements. I am sorry for your tragic loss of your father.

\”There is no chance,\” a family friend told PEOPLE on Tuesday night. \”It is a fact that her heart is beating but she is brain dead.\”
The sunniest, sweetest and most successful scion of the Redgrave/Richardson dynasty, Natasha\’s voice was described as honey over iron filings – her beauty as sufficient to carry a motion picture on its own. states the UK Mail
