OCTO WATERFRONT GRILLE VIP GRAND OPENING PARTY PHOTOS

Everything old is new again as Philly’s Octo Waterfront Grille debuts along the Delaware River next to the grand Ben Franklin BridgeYesterday’s weather didn’t dampen the spirits of party goers of the new incarnation along the Delaware River last night as Octo Waterfront Grille, which no doubt will pick up the shorten moniker of Octo Grille, then just Octo as it’s popularity soars.
Chris Petty and Kathy Larsen enjoy the Octo opening, especially the seafood spread. Laurence and Donita Randle

Political guru attorney David Maser, Tania and Craig Drake “Jeweler to the Stars”. I love seeing what Tania is wearing, almost as beautiful as she is. Plus she’s sweet as can be.Keith McMillion Steel case, Andrew Herton Cherry Hill Imports, Donna Coghlan and Charlie Pasquele. Yesterday marks the 1 year anniversary since I met both Donna and Charlie at the Alex’s Lemonade event at Osteria. Donna been a huge help in a lot of ways to PCC, and a good friend, thanks.
The night was already great seeing so many friends, but look who pops in but Arthur Kade and Joey Sweeney of Philebrity fame. Louise Castellano and Megan Smith; Megan is rockin those legs. She is one of my partner’s in the NBC10’s Be a 10 in 10 Weeks. Which was explained to me as feel like a 10 because there’s no way I am going to be a 10 in 10 weeks, hopefully I will loose 5 x 10 in 10 weeks, but that’s about it. I have to say thanks to all the people I ran into last night that gave me a lot of love and support on my quest, it’s really appreciated.
The pier is divided in two distinct “rooms”; the larger bar area which has TV’s hanging from the ceiling in the center of the room above a very expansive bar, and this smaller, more intimate area. This space also has a TV, but it’s hanging on the wall.
The restaurant, which is situated on a pier overlooking a marina, will be under a massive tent and feature sizable fish tanks featuring freshwater fish, lobster and octopus (the inspiration for the name Octo). In between the two bar areas is a nice set up with tables and booths for you to enjoy your food and drinks, and take in the view of the waterfront as well as the beautiful Ben Franklin Bridge. Jay Tackett of Tackett & Co., who’s is responsible for the modern feel of the design. Another note, nice touch with the bathroom attendants. One girl told me on nights like this (rain) they are a nice luxury as you need the extra hair spray to prevent the drowned rat look.

Can we really trust her, why does she exist? Erin was working the Octo Grille for Philly’s own TMZ – Streettalkin.com

I imagine it’s gonna be one of the best front row seats for the upcoming fireworks on June 27 . See you there. (It was nice to be at a pary
What does Arthur Kade have to say for the night. “It was off the hook, a happening place. Great place to women, work a tan.”
No, thank YOU Hughe for all you do and say.
Looks like a nice place. And a nice crowd – with the exception of Arthur Kade. He looks freakish/scary/greasy. One of his "people" should tell him to nix the t-shirt/back-pack/hat. The only thing bigger than his ego is his nose. Hopefully he has about 6 minutes left on his 15 minutes of fame.
This was a really nice event. Ally and Peter out did themselves, and he food was magnificent. Great coverage here HughE. Please let Arthur Kade know that Philly has been "on the map" for a long long time….
Your crush on Arthur Kade is laughable. Every time you post pics or stories about how great he is, it ruins your site's credibility.
Then please by all means don't visit my site, because in reality every time I mention Arthur Kade I get another 1000 eyes checking out my site. He's one of those train wrecks people complain about, but then are obsessed about at the same time. So thanks anonymous for putting yourself out there.
Looks like my kinda place in terms of ambience, etc. Will have to get hubby to take me there the next time we travel to Philly.
I can't get enough of ArthurKade. Seriously you barely touch on this guy, but he does seem to be everywhere.

Same anon from 11:11:
I've read your site for a while now. I appreciate your perspective on goings on throughout the city that normally don't get much pr. However, I see no need for you to pump up Kade and his retarded fantasy world. If you don't want me to read anymore, I won't. Although I find it hard to believe that you don't want as many eyes as possible appreciating your work. You never know who you could be telling to piss off. Why so defensive? Did my 1st comment hit a little too close to home?
Instead of acting like a 4 year old and saying "don't read my blog anymore," why not explain why you hype Kade unlike any other person you've ever mentioned on here? Is it purely for increased hits? I would think credibility would be paramount to a bunch of gawkers laughing at the Kade train wreck.
Because if Kade or anyone is out on the scene that I am covering, I'm gonna cover him. There's a lot of regular people "non haters" that read him, as I mentioned in my post it's surprising how many business types, reg folks, women want to hang out with him. If you're a regular reader of PhillyChitChat you would know that I've covered Arthur before he was Arthur Kade, he was on the social scene then too. "Credibility has two key components: trustworthiness and expertise, which both have objective and subjective components". Losing credibility would not be talking about the guy everyone in this town is talking about and who was at the event I was covering.
Oh and thank you for reading PhillyChitChat, I appreciate it even if I disagree and act like a 4 year old sometimes.
And I do hype other people. I link people's companies left and right, and it's all because I love Philly, and promoting good things and people.
Same Anon again:
You hype Kade way more than others. You can't dispute that. I understand he has some people talking, but I think it's for all the wrong reasons. I would bet 95% of people are laughing at him, not with him. He will never be taken seriously. He is a clown, parading around the city with his stupid hats and trendy t shirts. He is an attention whore with no discernable talent. And I'm not a "hater," I've known him since before he took on this whole bullshit persona.
You do a great job promoting charities, events, and good people, but promoting Kade and his circus makes it seem like you are one of his "people" and I feel it detracts from the quality work you are doing. I guess we will have to agree to disagree on this one.
It is also great that you respond to comments and criticisms.
We're friends, but I don't always agree with him. Philebrity and Philly Blunt promote him way more than I ever would, like every day, every single day. Philebrity has gotten huge numbers from promoting, writing about the guy whatever. Do a google search, 30 pages of links Philebrity, 2 pages of links PhillyChitChat and arthur kade. Maybe you don't read those sites.
Nice photographs. I will definitely check out your site more. Because I work as a nonprofit fundraiser, it's good to know what the beautiful and the powerful are up to. These are precisely the people we need help in improve life in Philly, nationally and the world.
Between arthur and the people without jobs at the party it really makes me question the value of being a VIP. It truly hurts the nightlife to see the same people over and over again on your blog. While you work is great the content is becoming dull and meaningless like some of the people in your photos.
I guess you don't read the glossy magazines either, they seem to feature the same people over and over too. Do you even read my blog, it's a different day, people are doing different things, and more importantly they are supporting people, places and things. By the looks of your Stat visits I can see you're not that bored, thanks for being one of the 1300 people to stop by today. Hughe
The comments really aren't that bad. Just some disjointed person probably not featured on your site, who feels slighted by the seemingly misogynist Kade. You really provide a different service than most sites, you're not covering the bar scene which is overdone. I've never been on your site before, but I will continue to read it you rock!!
Christina
I agree with Christina. And as we know a little controversy generates traffic. I suggest you keep the comments because they generate interest.
Hughe I enjy your photos and conversation everyday. If someone has a complaint about Kade they should go to the Kade site. You are just reporting the who's were where and what. These same people drool over baseball players for what the fact that they are doing their jobs and we pay them well?
