CHIT CHAT PHILLY – A New Weekly Gossip Info Column

Last year I tried to start a weekly Chit Chatter column, and I guess I just got to busy and dropped it. I will try again but call it Chit Chat Philly cause it’s gonna be just that chit chatter about what’s going on in Philly that wouldn’t normally fit in an entry, probably without as many pixs, maybe things I twittered as I drop a lot of info there daily (iphillychitchat) or picked up on Facebook or from other’s twitter’s (not to be confused with stories broken by other twitters).

Coming up this week in Philly, it’s New Year’s Eve. I have to laugh when people call it amateur night, or whatever. I find those people either have a serious drinking problem or are lacking in a posse to hang with on what is the party of the year no matter how you slice it.

I can understand if you are lacking the funds for some nice duds and tickets to what is usually a 5 hr open bar/buffet event which is pretty good (& did I mention the NJ Aquarium at $99 is a great deal with front rows to the fireworks.), but must you rain your negativity on everyone else? These are also the first people that will tell you how you need to do your job, or run your life. Anyway if you are not the going out type there are still plenty of restaurants, bars that are treating 12/31 like any other night, Del Frisco’s Union Trust, Amada, any Starr restaurant, Applebees, TGIFridays etc. Johnny Brenda’s New Year’s Eve Pay As U go drinks Or do like me, stay at home with a few friends, have some snacks, spirits and play board games.

MOMENTS: This week I want you to keep in your prayers two mothers. Ginger & Joan. One is battling cancer, the other a brain aneurysm. Both are angels on earth, I kid you not. Thanks.

Also Happy Birthday to Erin Elmore 1/2/09. I believe she will be 26th again this year, but of course if you want to know her real age you can check it out on her Wikipedia Page. More reality news, Erin’s sister Ashley is on the new season of ABC’s The Bachelor. There’s a nice spread in this weeks Us Magazine about the show. Peeps on the message boards have been buzzing that if she isn’t the chosen one, then she should be the next Bachelorette. Time will tell. Ck it out 1/4/10 and catch a sneak preview below. As you will see she suffers from shyness like her sister:

A few weeks back another Philly Reality Celeb from The Bachelorette Reid Rosenthal emailed me to express condolences regarding my sister Judy, who as you may know passed away from Ovarian Cancer 12/3. Thanks Reid, he’s as nice as his fans are, some of whom donating $$ to Gilda’s House in my sister’s name. I asked Reid what he’s been up to lately and he tells me he is focusing on his real estate career, plus he’s happily dating a nice women from NY. So maybe it wasn’t a meeting of the minds after all that kept him off the upcoming show.

Did you know? The Sporting Club Turns 21 on January 21, 2010 and they’re having a party to celebrate. U Must B on the Invite List To Get In.

This is why we need, and I have tried to establish a conflict calendar to avoid these things:

Frank and Priscilla Bardonaro are co-hosting a terrific event for PAWS on 1/21/10 too!! The shindig is being held at the former Real World House, which now like’s to use the moniker the formerly F.U.E.L as it’s changed it’s name to TRUST. (I guess it’s been long enough since El Vez used to be called Trust, but I would just call “RWH” as that has a celeb vibe to it.)

PAWS, tixs $50 7PM
It’s a fashion show and you get to see Fox 29 News’ Keri-Lee Halkett, John Bolaris, model Lindsay Furman, Live Nation honcho Adam Spivak and others strut their stuff. MC for the night Mike Jerrick, FOX 29 News, who’s modeling day’s are behind him.

All is not loss at the Sporting Club event starts at 6PM, PAWS at 7PM, who wants to carpool??

Oliver!! Closes at the Walnut Street Theater 1/10/09

Lady Gaga’s CD FAME (I made a mistake and didn’t get tickets for her 1/16/10 concert at Borgata. OY!)
