Founded in 1963 by Balanchine student and protégée Barbara Weisberger, Pennsylvania Ballet is one of the nation’s leading ballet companies. To uphold the integrity of the ballet world they were crafting on film, BLACK SWAN’s creators searched for a troupe of dancers that could tell their story with the grace and fervor Pennsylvania Ballet embodies. The 19th Philadelphia Film Festival will take place from October 14-24 showcasing over 100 new films from around the world on 8 different screens throughout the Philadelphia area.
