BUTTERFLIES ARE FREE AND THEY ARE MIGRATING ALONG THE JERSEY COAST AS WE SPEAK
Today’s Sunrise from my balcony looking east.
Looking towards the City
Each year butterflies migrate to South America along the eastern coast of often stopping or congregating in Stone Harbor before they cross the wide Herford Inlet towards Wildwood.
If you look closely you can see dragon flies on the branches
As night falls the butterflies gather in pine trees to rest as they don’t fly in the dark

Although the last two weeks were prime butterfly watching season, you may still see nearly a thousand a day for the next 10 days migrate along the shore. I recommend watching them at the Stone Harbor Point near 126th Street.
