THE LOST ENTRIES – Party Pixs: PARAMOUR KENTUCKY DERBY DAY

I’m on vacation this week, and am filling this week up with entries that should have posted earlier.

The social season was banging this past spring, and sadly I was over run with great events that didn’t end up anywhere, but I remembered that I liked it and it was fun.

Also I love the Mainline, tradition, fancy hats and smart outfits. I found that the previous year I covered this event, and again on May 4. Earlier in the day I had covered Le Dame’s seminar at the Restaurant School, then that evening I was going to the Philadelphia Chamber Orchestra Burt Bacharach dinner.

Paramour Restaurant at the Wayne Hotel hosted its second annual
Kentucky Derby Party on Saturday, May 4, 2013. The event kicked off the
spring and summer al fresco dining season on the Veranda. Proceeds from the event benefited the Wayne Senior Center.

Party guests gathering on the Veranda and in the Lobby Lounge were
treated to Mint Juleps and select wines by the glass from the bar.
Executive Chef Kyle paid tribute to the infield and served an array of
hors d’oeuvres like Potato Croquettes with Caviar and Creme Fraiche,
Lobster Bisque Shooters with Benedictine Whipped Cream and Shrimp and
Grit Cakes with Remoulade. Pastry Chef Amelia Dietrich satisfied
everyone’s sweet tooth with classic Kentucky Derby treats such as Red
Velvet Cupcakes and her deathly sweet Derby Bars.
