Catholic Church Sells Fairmount Convent, Condo’s to Rise in it’s Place, Maybe

Owner of Property 2322-32 Green Street has applied for a permit
to demolish the former St. Francis Convent. The property
is designated as historic by the Philadelphia Historical Commission.

 

Meeting #1:

The demolitions application has been forwarded to the Commission. Its Architectural committee will consider the application on October 28, 2014 at 9:45 AM Room 578 City Hall.
Meeting #2:

The Commission will consider the application on November 14, 2014 at 9AM Room 18-029 at 1515 Arch Street (Building is behind Love Park & across the Street from Cret Café.).
The Public is invited to these meetings and its comments are welcome.

 The garage is under the building. This is a win, win for the neighborhood. The last person who wanted to build here was the Donor’s For Life Hotel. Which I was all for, but if the owners decided to move then the property would have already been zoned a hotel.
