MY YEAR LONG #SELFIE PROJECT and Philly Mag’s Selfie Contest

I’ve been capturing people taking #Selfies of themselves for the last year, thinking maybe at the end I would do a blog post or even a photo exhibit. I’m not finished yet as I started in June 2014, but when I heard that Philly Mag was doing a Selfie Contest I thought this was a good way to show you a few of my works and promote their contest at the same time. Here are a few of my favorites, and one shot that occurred well before #Selfie was even in our vocabulary.

The Career Wardrobe Tea Party.  The fashion show is coming up in June. Get tickets, it’s a great event, good cause and great networking.

Alzheimer’s Association, Delaware Valley Chapter Wine, Women and Shoes event  co-hosted by Alex Holley, Fox 29, with Cherri Gregg, KYW and Ashley Johnson, WPHL Eye Opener.

One of my favorites – Broad and Spruce

This year’s hooray co-host for the PAI was Duke and Winston’s mascot Duke.  She was collecting #Selfies with Duke and she got one with Brian Lipstein of Henry Davidson, custom clothing.
Last June I started after I took this shot of Jay Baruchel, Actor: How to Train Your Dragon with a fan at the studios of CBS3 Talk Philly. The shot ran in Molly Eichel’s column in Philly Daily News. I love when people take selfies cause they’re capturing a memory, and cementing the notion that they were there to enjoy it.

Here are the Official Rules of the Philly Mag Selfie Contest. Enter and we’ll see you in the July Issue.
