The Wistar Institute is an international leader in biomedical research
with special expertise in cancer research and vaccine development. Founded in 1892 as the first independent nonprofit biomedical research institute in the country, Wistar has long held the prestigious Cancer Center designation from the National Cancer Institute. They have quarterly cocktail parties with the Young Friends or as they call them the Ambassadors. Institute is a proud supporter of WHYY. For several years, our
scientists have spoken to listeners throughout the Delaware Valley about
the important research being done at Wistar. New ads will begin running this month, and you can listen to all of them on our website. Listen to our researchers talk about how they are Wistar Science. »
