Team USA Leotards, Free Spotluck Party, Meet Steve Burton, Plus
Team USA Bejeweled Leotards Made in Philly Area, French Montana, Spotluck, bugs and lots happening this week that you need to put on your calendar
Good awesome Friday morning, welcome to another edition of Philly Gossip where I tell you the who, what, when and where that you want to know so you can tell your friends. I don’t know about you but I finally got into the Rio Olympic obsession and I watch at least 4 hrs a day, especially the evening portions. I am in LOVE with Team USA Girl Gymnastics, and those outfits are bling fashion smashing.
I heard each girls wardrobe is about $70ks, including a few outfits bejeweled with Swarovski jewels. You can get similar outfits the girls wore sans the Swarovski for a much more reasonable cost ie $70 plus, and they are made by a company in the Philadelphia area GK LTD . These are not your Nadia Comaneci (1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal and the first gymnast to be awarded a perfect score of 10 in an Olympic gymnastics event.) leotards, I tweeted the other day. Altho TEAM USA uses the same coaches.
Congrats to Simone Biles. I woke up the neighbors last night with my cheering. So amazing. Team USA Gymnastics is to this years Olympics as the Women’s Team USA Soccer Team was to the 2012 London Olympics. Check out this interview about how the costumes are created by Kelly McKeown, executive vice president of design and corporate relations of GK Elite. (Source)

TODAY 6PM: BEFORE FYE CLOSES, French Montana is going to create one last chaotic scene at the Broad Street store, during rush hour of course TODAY. Nothing will beat the time Nicki Minaj came and the lines were 4 blocks long.
Equity opens in Philly TODAY at the RITZ EAST. I had the privilege to see it last month with the stars, and director of the movie on hand. It was an enjoyable thriller about Wall Street, and what people will do to get ahead. Not a new theme, but this movie really gave you a glimpse of people’s vulnerabilities, while also being ruthless. It was entertaining. I’d see it again. Although it was set in NYC, where Wall Street is located, it was filmed in Philly and fun to pick out the Philly locations. Starring Alysia Reiner (l) and Sarah Megan Thomas (r), director Meera Menon and Sharon Pinkenson, Executive Director of the Greater Philadelphia Film Office. At the preview party Reiner told me that the movie is being optioned for TV, something she repeated to Entertainment TV this week.
Congrats Joanne Calabria, CBS3’s PR. Coming up next week:

Speaking of CBS3PHILLY look who stopped by to talk about Bug Fest at The Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University this weekend August 13–14
I feel the same way Brooke, although they are fascinating too: Join The Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University for their annual celebration of insects! Enjoy new activities and shows featuring our definitely disgusting and always amazing decomposers, buzz around the hive and be a bee expert, and help build a giant termite mound. Plus revisit some old favorites—back by popular demand. Talk with real scientists, learn about insects from all over the world, and see specimens from the Academy’s behind-the-scenes collections. Eat bugs, get your face painted, and relax as you enjoy a buggy show. More.

When: August 25, 2016; 5pm – 10pm
What: Libations, Green Swag & Spotluckers Everywhere

I’ll be there after around 7:30PM to photograph the action. See you then!!
