MSC Retail Welcomes AMC Theaters to Fashion District Philadelphia

announced today three lease transactions with AMC Theatres (AMC), a multiplex chain founded in 1920 with roughly 1,000 theatres and 11,000 screens worldwide in the Philadelphia area; the one we’re all excited about is the one happening in Center City.
will open a 36,000 SF movie theater in Fashion District Philadelphia
(formerly known as the Gallery at Market East and briefly, Fashion Outlets of Philadelphia) at the corner of 11th & Market Streets, Philadelphia, PA 19107. With a target opening date of mid-2019, AMC at Fashion District Philadelphia will feature eight screens on the third level of the mall in the entertainment zone.
Spanning three blocks of Market Street East, the redevelopment of Fashion District Philadelphia will offer +/- 730,000 SF of retail, dining and entertainment. Current co-occupancy includes Burlington Coat Factory, Century 21, and Tiffany’s Bakery, along with an eclectic mix of tenants yet to come. Fashion District Philadelphia is well-trafficked and conveniently connected to Reading Terminal Market, the Pennsylvania Convention Center and Philadelphia’s regional rail hub. Fashion District Philadelphia is a joint venture partnership with Macerich, the third largest owner and operator of shopping centers in the U.S. headquartered in Santa Monica, CA, and Philadelphia-based, Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust (PREIT).

The newly announced AMC will be going in the space formerly occupied by the Burlington Coat Factor,
which recently moved down to 9th and Market, opening last Friday to a big fanfare.
