On February 28, 2018, The Condo Shops / TCS Management, Hard Money Bankers and PA Off Market kicked off the first of their Market Makers series with “Market Makers: Philadelphia Real Estate Future”. Moderated by Gaurav Gambhir of The Condo Shops / TCS Management, George Beatty of PA Off Market and Ian Walsh of Hard Money Bankers,

the prominent panel included Councilman Allan Domb, Gary Jonas., President of HOW Properties; Mike McCann of The McCann Team and Richard Oller, Chairman of GoldOller.

Panelists shared their personal stories and anecdotes as well as statistics, trends and predictions for the real estate market with over 100 key real estate leaders who gathered at The Divine Lorraine Hotel for cocktails and conversation with Philadelphia’s industry leaders. The event featured an insightful panel discussion about the evolution and future of the real estate market. The interest rate, and the excitement happening in Philly is very attractive to buyers.

The goal of the Market Makers series is to provide a rare opportunity for clients and business associates of The Condo Shops / TCS Management, Hard Money Bankers and PA Off Market to hear from and interact with a diverse panel of industry leaders, coming together with the common goal of planning and developing for the growth and continued sustainability of the Philadelphia region.

Allan Domb told the crowd “It’s Better to have 300 new business come to Philadelphia than one Amazon Headquarters.” The City needs to make Philly more attractive to businesses. Another hurtle to overcome is getting more people on board to pay property taxes – “only 41 % of the property owners are paying taxes, 59% are exempt as they are institutions like schools – Univ of Penn, Drexel, Hospitals, Churches and people in poverty. We need to figure out how to tax institutions land, and move people out of poverty, which is desired by everyone, a better quality of living.
