Derby Day at West Laurel Hill, NRG Gives and Links to Parties We Shot This Week
It’s a soggy Sunday, but there are still fun things to do: Of course watch the Sixers at the myriad of fun spots throughout the City. I usually like to watch it at home where it’s perfectly acceptable to yell at the TV, but other fun spots are Fox & The Hound, Xfinity Live, James Restaurant; Today though I’m heading to Parx Casino today cause they have so many TV screens, and then there’s those slot machines I like.
The 7th Annual Kentucky Derby Party, which was held yesterday, May 4! This year’s festivities include delicious hors d’oeuvres and cocktails, dessert by Cupcakes by Ruth, live music, horse and carriage rides, fashion illustrations by Denise Fike, photo booth, raffles and more! Of course we’ll be watching the races on the big screen Photo: Brian Gambescia
NRG surprised Special Olympics Montgomery County today with a $100,000 check, the top donation in the company’s spring NRG Gives campaign. The nonprofit, which is the local chapter of the international organization, conducts training and Olympic-styled competitions in 18 sports for individuals with intellectual disabilities, or significant developmental disabilities, at various venues within the county, received the most votes in the week-long, public voting event. Also competing in the online voting competition were Family Strong 4 ALS Foundation who received a $20,000 donation, and Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia receiving $10,000.
The following are links to parties I or my team photographed this week. Additional photos and stories may appear on PhillyChitChat in the coming days, so don’t fret if you don’t see you. I try and list details for each event here, as well as the PR/Publicist. If it’s not listed that means it was in house.
