Opera Philadelphia O19 Gala Was An Exquisite Event

Opera Philadelphia Festival O19 celebration Honoring Maestro Rovaris

For the past three years, Opera Philadelphia’s seasons began with Festival O, and as is the case this year O19. On September 21, 2019 Opera Philadelphia held their annual gala, this year at the iconic Academy of Music, the Grand Old Lady of Locust Street with ticket prices beginning at $1,000.

Many guests arrived promptly at 5:30pm for Maestro’s Reception in the grand ballroom of the majestic building, a start to the magnificent evening which unfolds over the next few hours.

Soprano Tiffany Townsend who appeared as Princess Ninette in Prokofiev’s The Love for Three Oranges with Opera Philadelphia during O19, with Opera Philadelphia’s General Director & President David B. Devan. Earlier this year David received the prestigious Anne d’Harnoncourt Award for Artistic Excellence from the Arts + Business Council of Greater Philadelphia in a ceremony on Wednesday, May 29.  .

After cocktail hour guests enjoyed a concert by soprano Brenda Rae and pianist Grant Loehnig, before heading to the stage for a sit down three course dinner prepared by Garces Events.
