It’s Christmas Time in The City – Here’s a Few Recommendations
Technically the holiday season started when Mariah Carey Kicked Off the Christmas Season in Hilarious Video: ‘It’s Time’ on November 1, but the public at large stayed with the traditional time the day after Thanksgiving.
But now it’s really beginning to look a lot like Christmas after last night’s lighting of the VISIT PHILADELPHIA Holiday Tree powered by NRG, a 50-year-old majestic white fir that will illuminate the City Hall-area skyline. . I love City Rep Sheila Hess’ enthusiasm.
Alondra Anaya and Miguel Martinez-Valle Raining Cats & Reindeer Justin Gonzalez, Tenor, Alicia Vitarelli, 6ABC, Sheila Hess, City Rep, guest and Mike DelBene, President of Welcome America
I should have watched Alondra Anaya weather forecast on Telemundo. She had an umbrella, except she did put it down for this photo of her with Miguel, Santa and Mrs. Clause. Photo top right is Lorenzo Pugliese who stars in the title role, SpongeBob, at The Forrest Theater which is running through December 15, with his family. He’s a U of Arts graduate and grew up in our area. Grab your tickets at Kimmel Center.

Which brings us to: Over the weekend Christmas Village celebrated it’s first full weekend of fun. Above Kory Aversa, PR for Christmas Village leads a media/influencer tour of the Christmas Village campus, and we can call it that because now Christmas Village is on both sides of the street, at Love Park as well as at City Hall. More on that next week, when he does a tour on the Made in Philadelphia shops at Dilworth Park.
Yes that is managed by Christmas Village as well as the Ferris Wheel and Carousel. It’s really grown in the past 6 years, and has been in town for the past decade. Check out the Christmas Village Events Schedule. (Christmas Village is my client, but I honestly love it as does the thousands of people who attend.)
Santa and Mrs. Claus have been very busy already this month. Tuesday night they were at Rittenhouse Square’s lighting of their Christmas Tree.
After the Rittenhouse Square Christmas Tree lighting I headed to Shops at Liberty Place where Punch Media PR was celebrating the shops. They have a Bourbon Lounge, Santa, Elves and the Grinch appearing every Saturday in December. Plus a really cool way to donate money to a charity just by taking a selfie and following posting hashtags and tags. Plus who doesn’t like a selfie next to a gigantic tree, especially one inside.
