It’s Christmas Time in The City – Here’s a Few Recommendations

Technically the holiday season started when Mariah Carey Kicked Off the Christmas Season in Hilarious Video: ‘It’s Time’ on November 1, but the public at large stayed with the traditional time the day after Thanksgiving.

But now it’s really beginning to look a lot like Christmas after last night’s lighting of the VISIT PHILADELPHIA Holiday Tree powered by NRG, a 50-year-old majestic white fir that will illuminate the City Hall-area skyline. . I love City Rep Sheila Hess’ enthusiasm.

I should have watched Alondra Anaya weather forecast on Telemundo. She had an umbrella, except she did put it down for this photo of her with Miguel, Santa and Mrs. Clause. Photo top right is Lorenzo Pugliese who stars in the title role, SpongeBob, at The Forrest Theater which is running through December 15, with his family. He’s a U of Arts graduate and grew up in our area. Grab your tickets at Kimmel Center.

Performing last night at the Christmas Tree lighting was The Royal Mix and The Philadelphia Boys Choir and Chorale, both of who have performed on the Christmas Village stage before.

Which brings us to: Over the weekend Christmas Village celebrated it’s first full weekend of fun. Above Kory Aversa, PR for Christmas Village leads a media/influencer tour of the Christmas Village campus, and we can call it that because now Christmas Village is on both sides of the street, at Love Park as well as at City Hall. More on that next week, when he does a tour on the Made in Philadelphia shops at Dilworth Park.

Yes that is managed by Christmas Village as well as the Ferris Wheel and Carousel. It’s really grown in the past 6 years, and has been in town for the past decade. After the Rittenhouse Square Christmas Tree lighting I headed to Shops at Liberty Place where Punch Media PR was celebrating the shops. They have a Bourbon Lounge, Santa, Elves and the Grinch appearing every Saturday in December. Plus a really cool way to donate money to a charity just by taking a selfie and following posting hashtags and tags. Plus who doesn’t like a selfie next to a gigantic tree, especially one inside. One of my traditions is buying an ornament on the Wish Well Wall, proceeds go to charity, and write down what I wish for humanity, which is the same thing. Peace to the World, Peace With Oneself and Live by the Golden Rule. Thank you my readers so much for taking this journey with me. I’ve met so many of you this past month, even in Whole Foods the other day when I was in line with my elf hat on. It’s that time of year they we really catch the spirit of the holidays.
