The doors at The Palm Restaurant closed Monday night for at least 9 months.
Jeff Phillips, C.O.O. at Palm Restaurant was on hand to greet longtime Palm Restaurant customers, who were in for their last meal, and some of them to say good bye to their mugs on the wall. As much as the Palm tried to assure people that the faces would be saved, it’s nearly impossible as most are secured to the wall via adhesive and would tear the face if it were pulled off. The new restaurant will have new, updated faces. Many of the faces in the famed Bellevue located eatery are OLD.

On the 2nd to the last night of Meek Mill’s freedom before undergoing 90 days of house arrest for a parole violation, Meek Mill headed to Vanity Grand with Fabulous to party.
Sunday night the Philadelphia Film Society young friends hosted their 3rd Annual Oscar Bash, and by far the biggest, most successful one moving it from the quaint Roxy Theater to the nearly 500 seat Prince Theater. In recent years Philly’s been lacking a quality, affordable viewing party since The Ritz – Carlton stopped doing them a few years back, and as much as they were great, this was much better. The AV worked perfect, there was plenty of food, a great mix of people and the screen was movie theater quality, and the audience was enraptured by the show, so there wasn’t too much chatting except for the collective sigh of disgust when Sly lost.
The Philadelphia Film Society Young Friends is a community of film enthusiasts and advocates that participate in social, educational, and philanthropic events to cultivate the next generation of film appreciation, film and festival-goers, and filmmakers in Philadelphia.
You should join them, there are a lot of great benefits, free screenings, lectures and much more. It’s really a great organization to belong to as well as a great place to meet other young friends, and young at heart movie lovers.

I heard rumors of good news coming out of the CBS 3 studios in the past few months, and now I have learned that everyone’s favorite Emmy Award-winning Consumer Reporter
Jim Donovan, will be taking over the anchor chair, left vacant by Ukee Washington, who moved on to the 6PM and 11PM slot last summer. In addition to his new role, he will continue to cover the
consumer beat in his popular “On Your Side” segments.
Joining Jim at the desk will be Brooke Thomas, most recently co-host of Tribune Television’s Eye Opener, a live, syndicated morning show broadcast out of Dallas, Texas, who with with Meteorologist Katie Fehlinger and Traffic Reporter Meisha Johnson will continue on in their roles.
It’ll be a sad good bye for Erika von Tiehl, who will be leaving the Philly area.
Erika von Tiehl,
current morning and noon news co-anchor, will be leaving CBS 3 later
this spring. von Tiehl, who
is getting married this June, is relocating to another city for a
position that will be announced later. In the interim, she will remain a
contributor to
Eyewitness News. “It’s been a wonderful experience to work in
Philadelphia and at CBS 3, and I am grateful for the friendships that I
take with me, that I know will last a lifetime,” von Tiehl says,

I am so uncool, I never heard of Amy Cuddy. I am in the minority cause last week when I covered another one of the fabulous Arts + Business Council of Philadelphia morning seminars, who was hosting Amy Cuddy at this was, I was taken back by the crush of the crowd of over 500 people. Seems everyone else knew who Amy Cuddy was and her theory on “Power Posing.” There were a lot of attendees standing up straight, full power posing while networking before the doors opened for the event.
‘Social psychologist, author and Harvard Professor Amy Cuddy’s TED
Talk on “power posing” made her the #2 biggest TED speaker in the
world. Our host for the lecture was The Arts
& Business Council of Greater Philadelphia which builds relationships
between business and the arts.
Afterwards there was a meet
a greet with VIP ticketholders, Amy signed her book Presence:
Bringing Your Boldest Self to Your Biggest Challenges, which was
published in December.
Good Friday Morning.
A shot of Broad Street the other night when I was running from Chowderblast at Chatterblast to The Opening of the Logan Hotel party. Where I saw my friend Philadelphia City Rep Sheila Hess.
Who had a very busy week she tells me. Between welcoming dignitaries to the office to
Birthday wishes to my cousin Tina Libertella Morrison. This is what 50 looks like, although this photo is 2 years old, 52 looks just as good. You know what. 3 Years ago Tina decided to reinvent herself. She had a successful cleaning service, but had gotten a bit out of shape; she got in shape and now she owns her own gym called Fuel Fitness in Sicklerville, NJ

And on Sunday we watch the Oscars |
Long, long ago The Ritz Carlton used to have the most fantastic Oscar viewing party. These days the lobby of the Ritz is knee deep in construction with the new Richard Sandoval eatery which I wrote about in April 2014, and nearly 2 years later was confirmed by Michael Klein earlier this year.

Most of the time my columns show you who was at the event, and very little of the ambiance. Going forward I want to change that. If a column is placed in a media outlet, and it was particularly spectacular, I’m going to put the photos in PhillyChitChat and tell you who was behind the fun.
Cheers for CHOP is a celebratory evening benefiting Emergency Medicine
at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). This festive event
