WATERFRONT SQUARE CONDO – MY STAYCATION and PhillyChitChat’s 3rd Anniversary Party

Waterfront Square is a completely new concept for Philadelphia. It offers an incredible opportunity to people who want to live in the city but feel as though they reside in a secluded resort. Isle of Capri Associates, the developers of Waterfront Square Condominiums & Spa conducted preliminary market studies, which indicated a desire for an elegant riverfront residential community that offers a lifestyle of comfort, security and service-rich environment. When I arrived for my Staycation on Friday night this was the first thing I saw as I walked through the door:
Ok the 2nd thing, here’s the foyer

My condo retails for $639,000, a bit out of my price range, but I hear they have more affordable ones for me in the $300,000 range.
The list of amenities is crazy. Gated community with luxury Amenities: Spa and Fitness Center,Health Club,Indoor Swimming Pool overlooking Delaware River,Sundeck,This is on top of the multi story parking garage.
It’s a 9 hole golf course, plus a park setting to walk your dogs, relax and just take in the views on any one of the benches around the space. It’s like a courtyard for the buildings.

I couldn’t get over the views day and

nightWalking/Jogging Trail,Sauna,Concierge Service,Conference Room,Putting Green,Shuttle Service to Center City,Covered Garage with Parking and Valet Parking,24 Hour Security.
Modern Kitchen with Granite countertops, stainless Steel appliances and ceramic titles. In home Washer and Dryer,Prewire for Cable/Phone. Oversize windows overlooking Delaware River. Close to all major roads/restaurants and nightlife!!
Saturday night James Zeleniak (here with wife Alicia Crawford-Zeleniak), The Waterfront Square Condos, Fish, Fork and Yards Brewery hosted a fantastic party for PhillyChitChat’s 3rd Anniversary. I was limited on space and didn’t want to wear out my welcome so I only invited a few of the people who have really helped me over the years with my blog.
Maria Papadakis and Ashley Keen stopped by to join in the celebration.

Aida Starta and Stacey Kracher

Mike, Amber G and Kendra. Both Amber and Kendra live here in separate buildings. They love the security, the gated community. The neighborhood society, in fact later in the evening they went to the Lighthouse, which is where the community room is, to join in a neighborhood community party. And what a neighborhood it is, it has over 1,000 units, but it doesn’t feel overcrowded as there is enough space to roam around.
The lovely Erin Elmore. Thank you thank you thank you. I met Erin in Aug 2008 at a Philly Mag Best of party. We became fast friends and she’s been so generous to me over the years. It seems like we’ve known each other a lot longer than that and I consider her to be one of my besties.

Thanks to Flower child for the beautiful flowers that awaited me when I walked through the door. Everything was so beautiful, and thoughtful. I am so grateful.
Jamyra Perry, Jonathan Vendrick and Melony Roy. These three have been thick as thieves with me, also offering good advice, and Jonathan keeping me up to date with what can be told about the goings on at the Loews Hotel. I believe mostly due to the velvet touch of Jonathan Vendrick is why many celebrities choose to stay at the Loews because Jonathan is the VIP Concierge and he takes care of their every need. Rose petals on your bed anyone?
Janice Lim and Erin Elmore and those sexy legs. Erin is about to jet off to San Fran to be with her new beau Jamie. I hope we don’t lose Erin to the City by the Bay, but it could happen. Those two are dynamite together.

What’s a HughE party without fireworks.
This unit had 2 bedrooms, and 2.5 baths. Too much luxury to get used to.
I loved watching the river and all it’s activity. Now I was on the 14th Floor, but I believe there are great views from almost every floor.

On July 7th I will celebrate 3 years being PhillyChitChat. Although I have to say the blog really didn’t take off until Aug 2008, and then super dooper after I met Sabrina Tamburino in Nov 2008 at a Philly Style Magazine party. I have only missed maybe 10 entries in the 3 years since I started. Sure I have had some sucky ones and I apologize;)
Beautiful Lobby
My friends who are always there for me, even when I might be too busy to see them on a regular basis. My partner Mike, one of my long time friends Scott, who I have known for about 20 years, and my bird watching friend Marty. (Some of my other friends couldn’t make it as it seemed to be a big vacation week.)
I’m having another party for a larger segment of friends on July 4th at my house as I can see the Art Museum fireworks.

Peggy Trott and Brenda MendteMatt Valahos, Mike Toub, Krista and Chris Gabello and Jimmy Contreras

Eventually they will have 5 buildings for the complex. So far three buildings have been built, and 2 are fully occupied. The third building has just been completed and it’s ready for residents. That is the one I stayed at and it was magnificent. The construction is solid, the windows really keep out the noise, but it’s the city and I like the noise so I left them partially opened. The views, I don’t have to tell you about the views. I currently live in a luxury building, but this complex blows away anything I have ever seen deemed luxury, and the another great feature is it’s only 3 blocks from Northern Liberties, shopping, food and night life. If you can afford to live in a community like this, and you are looking to live in Philadelphia, you can’t afford not to look at the Waterfront Square Condos.

RANDOM SHOTS CAUSE FROM MY BLACK BERRY

Another in a series of pictures taken with my cell phone. (Or I finally figured out how to get the pixs off the darn BB)
Today at 39th & Walnut, at the Radium Building, please visit my Aunt Mary’s and Cousin Kelly’s fruit & vegetable stand at the farmers market.

Recently Chipotle
redesigned the windows at the former Susanna Foo’s restaurant. Foo had designed and picked out the windows herself. Now they have been enlarged them and paved a new sidewalk. In the evening a Philly cop guarded the newly done work
Mike
Bloomie’s flower shop vacated 13th & Walnut a year ago, but finally some activity is happening.
Right up the street from Tutti Fruitti which slipped in there unnoticed after Bonti left
Will be another Sweet Endings, taking over the spot of the flower store. guess the rumors of that corner being demolished in order to build a condo, is being tabled at this time. Hmm Korean Ice Cream!!
This guy is using the old headshop’s front door as a mirror. I chatted with the new owners and they are building an upscale cigar place in the same space. Complete with humidors.

Rittenhouse Square Friends need a new bench
Have a nice weekend. Mike and I are off to our staycation at the Waterfront Condo’s on Delaware Ave to see how the other half lives.

MICHAEL JACKSON ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF HIS DEATH

http://www.youtube.com/user/michaeljackson?blend=1&ob=4#p/f/81/hMnk7lh9M3o

I remember I had taken the day off from work and spent it with my sister. I had kept it from her that Farrah Fawcett had died that morning, but when I heard Michael Jackson had died we both wanted to watch the news. So then I had to tell her about Farrah too just in case they announced it. I cried all the way home, for Farrah, Michael Jackson and for my sister. IT was a sad day.
