Capital One #BankingReimagined at Dilworth Park Today. I Went Yesterday….

Capital One launched a ten city #BankingReimagined tour earlier this year. Philadelphia is the next to the last stop (they’re there today until 6PM), but arrived on an important weekend, Dilworth Park’s Spring Awakening Weekend. The fountains are on again, the cafe is open and spring programing starts.

I headed over about 1PM to walk through the 20 minute, interactive session in order to help uncover the financial behaviors that best match my value system, and help my understand the role personal fiances play in enhancing my life.

First you fill out a digital form, with topics related to money and your long-term goals. Taking the mystery out of savings, and really engaging you on what is important for your money. I liked it.

I like thinking long term, when I finished college I really never thought about long term goals, even though I had just finished going to school for a lifetime career.

Then I headed to the 2nd part of the tour and climbed the state-of-the-art, 54-foot trailer housing a smart, personalized and digital experience open to the public, including:

  • Touchscreens that allow you to prioritize personal values and goals, demonstrating how your outlook shapes the way you view money.
  • An augmented reality experience with 3-D holograms in real space and time that brings your financial goals to life. Video selfie booths where you can record a message to your future self as a reminder of your money goals.

There was a giant touch screen where I swiped images left or right to answer Yes/No questions. It was like playing a game, but it was actually helping me prioritize my financial goals. After answering questions, not surprisingly I ended with a card that said improving my business was my top consideration.

I really enjoyed the interactive displays and I got to use this the HoloLens virtual reality headset. It was my first experience using virtual reality headsets and was really neat. Technology is so fascinating especially helping us see things we normally don’t experience.

The tour ended with me recording a video on my future financial goals, which will be sent to me in the future. In the meantime I can set up a time to meet with  Capital One to meet with their free Money Coaches although you could just walk into one of their cafes to use the service as well.

At the end of the tour there were free snacks and coffee to enjoy

and swag to take home.

Capital One’s core beliefs: Personal finance doesn’t need to be stressful. Both the tour and the Capital One Cafés hope to make that goal a reality.

Our Capital One Cafe is located at 17th and Walnut. I wrote about it earlier in the week.
