Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter & Paul Wants to Develop Residential Towers on Site
Looks like the folks at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter & Paul,
looked across the street to the newly dedicated Mormon Temple, and it’s campus and said we want to do that too.
The plans were posted at my condo for public review, by the Archdiocese Of Philadelphia to build a “Cathedral Village” at 17th and Vine with homes and retail.
The Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, head church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Philadelphia, is located at 18th Street and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, on the east side of Logan Square in Philadelphia
With two residential towers, about 25 – 30 stories each (I counted the floors), and a plaza between the residents and the Cathedral. Underground parking is planned for up to 400 spots.
This picture is looking East.
It’s a pretty sizeable lot. It’s going to be beautiful, a great compliment to the Mormon Campus, as well as Sister Cities Park across
18th Street. (on left). The Philadelphia Archdiocese’s administration building would be demolished at corner of 18th and Vine if they’re going to complete this project.
