Phillies Opener, Free Food, Peruto’s and Antiques and Art Show Chit Chat

Happy Opening Day Phillies!! I have an insanely busy day. I’ll be at CBP with the Philly Zoo Key from 1PM til about 2:30PM inside 3rd Base Gate / Pass and Stow, then at 6:30pm I’ll be back in town for Sherry Knowltons book signing at Shakespeare & Co (come by, it’s free) and finally a movie screening of Emilio Estevez‘s documentary, all of which I’ll share more info on Friday with you. Let’s Chit Chat Philly Gossip…

Earlier this week the Phillies had a media preview of the new food offerings at the stadium. I was feeding giraffe’s at the Philly Zoo and missed it, but the Phillies were nice enough to send a few photos over shot by
Copyright © 2018 The Phillies/Mitchell Leff The new area, which will have food, a retail section and features the old Liberty Bell from Vet Stadium is called Pass and Stow and is behind Third Base.

Immediately upon entering the Third Base Gate, fans will experience the outdoor beer garden, Goose Island Bar at the Park featuring a variety of beers, wine and spirits, and Foundry Pizza of Pass and Stow. The first of its kind at Citizens Bank Park, this open-air, food and drink destination will span 11,500 square feet, seat 250 fans, and have ample standing room.

Additional features include fire pits, picnic tables, a 30′ x 50′ pergola adorned with lights, and a Phillies-etched water feature. Pass and Stow will also include a 7,000-square foot, family-friendly sports pub with seating for 150 fans. Other highlights: garage doors that open and a split-flap board (similar to the former Amtrak’s board at 30th Street Station) that shows game updates.

They’ll have chicken wings, and a hot Chicken Sandwich. A house-made kielbasa with cornichons, pickled mustard seeds and arugula, tater tots, and burgers, shakes and fries from Shake Shack. PLUS Questlove’s Cheesesteak, he’ll be there today on Opening Day too.

Located adjacent to the Third Base Gate, the expansive team store featuring official Phillies merchandise and the largest cap display you’ll ever see, is open year-round, Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. On game days with a start time of 1:35 p.m. or earlier, the store can only be accessed from the concourse with a game ticket. The store is closed on major holidays. Enter from inside the park during events (behind Section 134) or outside during non-event times (on Citizens Bank Way).

This year’s Philadelphia Antiques and Art Show will be held from Friday, April 26, through Sunday, April 28, 2019, at The Navy Yard, with a Preview Party on Thursday, April 25, and a jazz night on Saturday, April 27. Over 60 of the country’s preeminent antiques and fine art dealers are participating from across the US, and a full schedule of special programs is planned, including social events, lectures, panel discussions and tours. This year, The Women’s Committee of the Philadelphia Museum of Art is organizing the Preview Party, show programming and providing volunteer support for the show. Several Main Line residents are volunteer organizers of the 2019 Philadelphia Antiques and Art Show, including: (seated L-R) Michele Lockwood, Robin Williams, Hannah Henderson, Eve Walker (otherwise known in my family as my mom’s best friend); (standing L- R) Margo Eremus, Martha Morris, Ann Calvert, Ellen Caplan, Stephanie Simmerman, and Margot Sullivan.

Congrats to Chuck Peruto and the formerly known as Lindsay Glasgow, now Mrs Peruto, on their recent nuptials. The destination wedding took place in Mexico 2 weeks ago, and

nearly all of their friends flew down to celebrate with them that weekend, which would explain the dip in revenue for the Rittenhouse eateries. It was even possible to get a table outside at Parc on what is usually a busy Saturday afternoon the first weekend of spring.

Sunday I stopped by Tradesman with my pals Alex Holley and Thanuja Hamilton, where Sixers personality Christian Crosby, and his Live Life Nice crew, partnered with Not Your Basic Brunch, a monthly brunch party held there to bring the fun and it was a lot of fun, before I left to cover Mission Possible at XFinity.

Wednesday I headed to Geno’s Steaks to try out their newest menu item, Geno’s Meatball Sandwich. It was delicious, I kid you not. You are going to thank me. It’s $9.50, the serving is generous, and they start selling them on Friday!! I even got to wear my new bib.

Tuesday – #SaveTheDatePHL – Events You Might Want to Attend

So often when I post events I shoot, people tell me they wish they knew about such and such event beforehand. And even though I constantly promote most events on social media, we all know there’s a crush of info out there, as well as the algorithms that screw up the timelines. So I started something earlier this year where I compile a list of events that i think you might want to attend. I thought it would be clever to post it on Tuesday, like “To Do Tuesday”, and in the meantime you can also click on the hashtag #SaveTheDatePHL on Twitter, FB or Instagram and check out events there as well.

Hello Spring….

Philadelphia is so lucky to have a vibrant theater scene. To keep up with what’s happening in the Philadelphia theater scene bookmark this SITE.

The Party – Don’t Take Your Organs With You!!

This Friday March 29, 2019 at The Bellevue Hotel, Philadelphia
This annual event is an evening of celebration, dancing, and tasting the best from our region’s top restaurants and vendors.  The money raised at this event  funds public education programs to increase awareness about the critical need for organ and tissue donors in our region, especially among young people and in the clergy and multicultural communities.

I really love this party, it’s laid back, fun, great music, fun people and lots of dancing oh and did I mention the dessert table – all for a noble cause. This is one of my choices where if you only attend one or two events a year, this is a must do. INFO

Best Parties of The Week Decor Pixs, details and Links to Media Placements
PS On Friday’s I will post as many links to where our photos are placed in the media as possible.

WOW what a social season. So many exciting events happening, raising funds for so many great causes, and then there’s the fashion and decor at the gala. People ask me all the time, how do I chose who’s photo to use in my columns. It definitely matters what you’re wearing, it doesn’t have to be a designer label, it just has to be eye catching. Also they way you posed, often I help people out. I take the initial photo, then I show them the photo to see what they think. If there’s a flaw and they don’t catch it, I will tell them what I’d like them to do in the 2nd shot. Then I show them and they usually have that a-ha moment.
Thursday to Wednesday 10/5 – 10/12, there are some photos still to be published but I’m at the mercy of my editors….
