The Arts +Biz Council hosted another of their Defining Innovation Global Speaker Spring 2018 Series on Friday April 6, 2018. Friday’s event featured Renée Mauborgne—professor and co-author of Blue Ocean Strategy and co-director of the INSEAD Blue Ocean Strategy Institute in Fontainebleau, France who presented Blue Ocean Shift, a definitive guide to the human side of innovation strategy. Mauborgne’s approach to “Nondisruptive Creation” means that anyone in any organization can be creative and make a Blue Ocean Shift with the book’s systematic five-step process. The sold out event was held at the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University. A continental breakfast was served before guests headed into the auditorim for the talk on how to create innovative strategies, which don’t disrupt strategies in place. Mauborgne was then joined on stage by Dr. Stephen K. Klasko, President and Chief Executive Officer of Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health who interviewed her more extensively.
