“ABC is mounting a revival of the star-studded, big-money 1970s comedy panel show Match Game — and 30 Rock star Alec Baldwin has signed on to host, Vulture has learned. The network and producer FremantleMedia North America announced that they are teaming up for ten one-hour episodes of Match Game 2016,” Baldwin’s Match Game revival will air at 10 p.m. on Sundays on ABC as part of a three-hour game-show block launching June 26. The block will also include the Michael Strahan-hosted $100,000 Pyramid revival and the return of the Steve Harvey-hosted Celebrity Family Feud. (THR)
Match Game pits contestants against each other as they try to match the answers of six celebrities in a game of fill-in-the-blank. It’s often quite funny, similar to Mad Libs, but shorter. As part of his deal to host what Alec Baldwin is calling a “limited series,” the actor will donate his appearance fee to arts-related organizations via the Hilaria and Alec Baldwin Foundation.
