A FAVOR FOR ME AND ST. PATICK’S DAY PARADE PHILADELPHIA
First I am going to take advantage of my large readership this week due to the Gerard Butler fan surge and that I was featured on CBS3 in a piece yesterday. I need you to keep my sister Judy in your prayers. Some of you may recall that last April Judy was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer stage 3; after 8 Chemo treatments, the cancer still spread. We just got the news last Friday, so needless to say professionally this has been an awesome week, personally I’m devestated. Today we hear more news about the future. Judy as usual is faring much better than all of us. So please keep her in your prayers. (My family, Mom in the center in pink, 5 sisters, a brother, me & spouses. Judy is in the blue dress)The above photo was taken St. Patrick Day’s weekend in Florida in 2005. This weekend is the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Philadelphia. The parade goes up the Parkway towards the Art Museum. Please stop by one of my favorite coffee/sandwhich shops Capriccio Cafe Cret at 16th & the Parkway (I took the photos for the website and I think they are some of my best – http://www.capricciocafe.com/. Did you know the next time the parade actually falls on St. Patrick’s Day is 2013
The Philadelphia St. Patrick’s Day Parade is the nation’s 2nd oldest. Due to a change in the route, this year’s parade will pass in front of Capriccio’s patio at the corner of 16th and the Parkway on its way toward Eakins Oval. Capriccio @ Café Cret is a perfect family-friendly location to take-in the parade’s sights and sounds.
In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, we will feature the following special drinks –
- Shamrock Milkshake – Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream blended with milk and topped with whipped cream.
- Leprechaun Latte – A delicious latte with a hint of green mint syrup to add a bit of color to your day.
- Irish Cream Mocha – Our traditional mocha dressed up for St. Patrick’s Day with delectable Irish Cream flavoring.
- White Chocolate Mocha with green mint syrup – Capriccio’s decadent White Chocolate gets an official Irish makeover.
The parade starts promptly at 11 am, passing by Capriccio shortly thereafter. Make sure to get there early and reserve your spot on the patio!
