Not since Gene Hart has the silence in Philadelphia been so deafening. Harry Kalas above in 10/07 at the Phillies rally at City Hall, died today at age 72 in the sporting booth ready to call another game.
(Personally my father was a huge Phillies fan, and a serious fan of Harry Kalas. Dad died 5 years ago, and today is his birthday. No doubt Dad is waiting for Harry at the gates to recall many of the great Phillies ball games)

Loved that man. Games will never be the same.
Another Philadelphia icon gone – but definitely not forgotten!!
