Oscar Night in Philly is getting more exciting every year
Oscar Night in Philly is getting more exciting every year now that Traverse Arts Project has begun to throw their annual Oscar Gala. This year it was held at The Radison Warwick Hotel Philadelphia 1701 Locust Street,
Our hosts for the night were Mark Dahl and Desiree Hines, who looked faboo in her gold lame outfit. Both are from the Traverse Arts Project, which is unique in its organization. Each project is autonomous except in matters effecting the organization as a whole. We strive to create an organization that maximizes diversity and presents opportunity for participation by factions with different viewpoints.
The night began with a VIP Reception, which I missed, but it was there that Sandy Beach MC’d the local red carpet as Thom Cardwell and Matthew Ray tore up the Hollywood Celebrities as they made their way down their carpet. The New Miss’d America also performed. Price tickets ranged from $30 – $75, the latter included an open bar, but all who attended were treated to a light meal, red carpet photo and comfortable seating in the ballroom.
Angel Hardy, Brian M green (now I realize who he is, hi Brian), Shawn Collins Faulkner, Perry Monastero.
Marco Braeutigam and Mario Gonzalez found a nice quiet cornor of their own to enjoy the show.
Steve Cisowski, Steve McCann and Robert O’Neil This is the same ballroom where my sister was married, has and every democratic victory party I’ve been to has occurred here. It’s a very storied room. Nina Tinari’s parents live in the condo side of the building, Happy Birthday Nina.
Suzi Nash and Sada Nobule
John Stanley and Robert Drake. Catch WXPN’s DJ Robert Drake spinning at the after party for Sut Up & dance at Voyeur, if not there at his monthly themed gig for this month on April 2 – Sex Dwarf Bunny Hop!
– Don your best bunny ears and cotton tail as we celebrate the arrival of spring! If you don’t have bunny ears, have no fear – we’ll have some on hand! Prizes for the best bunnies of the night!
Sandy Beach and Miss’d America 2010 (Scott Cooper)
Bob Sandy Beach has a monthly gig called “Pop” which plays at 8pm at the Adobe Cabaret 1919 E. Passyunk Ave
Katrina Rivera, Juan Vasquez and Kizzy Vasquez who run a video company who’s name I can’t read, but would love to put here, filmed a lot of the evening asking pertinent questions of each of the guests.
Johnana Crane and Jennifer Borland told me they heard about the party from reading PCC. That always makes me happy. In fact if you patronize something tell them you heard it from PCC. I know PhillyCupCake told me they had hundreds of peeps who read my blog. Bummer it still doesn’t get me a discount:( LOL
James Duggan and Thom Cardwell, principles of BuckMonkey events.
Bruce Allen and Michele Brodskey enjoyed the night getting all decked out.
The newly renovated hallway of the Warwick Hotel. I will be photographing it’s official grand re-opening later this week for the Radisson. So for those people who say I would go to the opening of an envelope, you’re right, and for the right price I’ll go cover the opening of a hallway too. (But it is much prettier with the bright colors, remember before it was dark everything, still glamorous, but dark.)
