THE 25TH ANNUAL PHILADELPHIA AIDS WALK – FACES IN CROWD

Sunday started off with a beautiful sunrise, and continue with the 25th Annual Philadelphia AIDS Walk in Fairmount Park. I ended my night in Fairmount Park at the American Cancer Society Gala and will post those photos on Thursday.
The Philadelphia AIDS Walk’s annual event supports organizations in the Philadelphia area that provide AIDS and HIV-related services, education and prevention.

The crowd seemed a little lighter than in previous years, but the organization says they raised more money this year.

The reading of the names. Mondo Guerra, a contestant in the upcoming “All Stars” season of the hit television show “Project Runway,” and fellow designer and show alum Jack Mackenroth, brought the national HIV education campaign Living Positive By Design to Philadelphia for AIDS Walk Philly yesterday.While I was there I heard a few of my friends who have died, including my good friend Wayne Cohen. Many people think the serious threat of this disease is over and since it can be managed by drugs. You do not want to manage it by drugs, first of all these drugs are toxic and have serious side affects. Recently one of my friends told me he had a heart attack because of the interaction of the 21 drugs he takes to manage his disease.

The AIDS Quilt makes an appearance at the Philadelphia AIDS Walk. This year I didn’t see my best friend’s panel, Shawn Conley, who died in 1992.
Ryan White was an American teenager from Kokomo, Indiana who became a national poster child for HIV/AIDS, and it’s fight to end discrimination against those with the disease. shake it up
