Red Phanatic leads the Phillies fun, March 23–30, to celebrate the start of the season

With Opening Week just around the corner, the Phillies are getting ready to Paint the Town Red! From March 23 – March 30, the
Red Phanatic will once again appear at daily events filled with lots of
Phillies fun to celebrate the upcoming baseball season.
Fans
on Twitter are encouraged to report their Red Phanatic sightings by
following @phillies and using the hashtag #RedPhanatic.

02 D25F6770ccSATURDAY, MARCH 23Phillies Charities 5K, 9:00 a.m., starts/ends on Phillies Drive, Citizens Bank Park
Cheer on 5,000+ runners taking part in the third annual sold-out Phillies Charities 5K!
·         Be on the lookout for the Red Phanatic,
who will lead off the race and be chased by 5,000 runners. Plus, lots
of fun surprises to keep runners motivated along the way!
·         Special guests include Phillies Alumnus Tommy Greene, Phillies Ballgirls, Phoebe Phanatic, and broadcaster Jim Jackson, who
will emcee the event. Comcast SportsNet will also be onsite
distributing Phillies beads and cheercards (while supplies last).
·         Following the race, head over to McFadden’s Ballpark for the Official Post-Race Party and celebrate with great food and drink specials, live music and more!

It’s
Fido’s turn to show his Phillies spirit at this family-friendly event
held in partnership with the Pennsylvania SPCA and Friends of Schuylkill
River Park!
  • Fans
    are asked to dress their dogs in their Phillies finest with the
    best-dressed dogs being awarded special prizes following a pup parade.
  • Cats and dogs will be available to adopt on site.
  • Blankets, toys and monetary donations to the Pennsylvania SPCA will also be accepted on site.
  • Event
    hosted in conjunction with Comcast SportsNet, who will be distributing
    Phillies beads and cheercards (while supplies last), and 98.1 WOGL.
    WOGL’s Valerie Knight and Comcast SportsNet’s Amy Fadool will also be taking part in the festivities.
  • Special appearances by the Red Phanatic and Phillies Ballgirls. Free Phillies Modell’s Sporting Goods Opening Day Rally Towels will also be distributed (while supplies last).
MONDAY, MARCH 25Phillies College Trolley Tour, 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
  • Local
    colleges should be on the lookout for the Phillies College Trolley
    Tour, which will be making its way across campuses to help spread the
    excitement about the upcoming Phillies season! Follow @phillies to learn
    where and when the trolley will stop!
  • Along the way there will be Red Phanatic sightings, Phillies Ballgirls, and lots of free fun on board – thanks to Comcast SportsNet and other special guests.
TUESDAY, MARCH 26Phanatic Dance Party, 11:00 a.m. – noon, Please Touch Museum
Think you have what it takes to dance with the Red Phanatic?
Here’s your chance to find out – as fans are invited to wear their
Phillies red and get into the groove for the upcoming season.
·         This unique dance party – that only the Phanatic could host – features lots of special guests, including the Phillies Ballgirls, broadcasters Larry Andersen and Scott Franzke, and 98.1 WOGL.
  • Kids
    who are participating in the Phanatic Dance Party and wear Phillies
    gear to the museum that day will receive free admission to the museum up
    until noon. Must mention the Phanatic Dance Party to receive free
    admission. (Adults are $16 per person).
  • Fans
    in attendance will also receive Phillies Modell’s Sporting Goods
    Opening Day rally towels and Comcast SportsNet Phillies cheercards
    (while supplies last).
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 27
Phillies to Join The Trust for Public Land Community Celebration, Noon – 12:30 p.m., Conestoga Recreation Center at 53rd & Media Streets, West Philadelphia
Join
the Phillies at Conestoga Playground as they celebrate The Trust for
Public Land’s initiative to create green schoolyards and recreation
centers in Philadelphia.
·         A
ceremonial “first pitch” will take place at Conestoga’s baseball field,
where fans are invited to hear about plans to renovate the site into a
state-of-the-art green play space.
·         Following the announcement, kids will be invited to take part in phun activities with the Red Phanatic, Phillies Ballgirls and broadcasters Scott Franzke and Larry Andersen.
·         Special guests include Commissioner Michael DiBerardinis, Philadelphia Parks and Recreation; Adrian Benepe, Senior Vice President, The Trust for Public Land; and Michael Stiles, Senior Vice President, Administration and Operations, Philadelphia Phillies.
THURSDAY, MARCH 28Phillies Lunch Break, 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., Comcast Center and The Markets & Shops at Comcast Center
  • Take
    a much-needed lunch break and head over to Comcast Center and The
    Markets & Shops at Comcast Center, where the Phillies-Blue Jays game
    will be live on the big screen starting at 1:00 p.m.
  • Special guests include the Red Phanatic, Phillies broadcasters Larry Andersen and Scott Franzke, and Phillies Ballgirls.
  • Fans
    in attendance will also receive Phillies Modell’s Sporting Goods
    Opening Day rally towels and Comcast SportsNet Phillies beads and

Center City to Represent the “P”!
  • Center City is turning red in honor of the Phillies return to Philadelphia that evening! Be on the lookout for a red Boathouse Row, as well as a giant Phillies “P” on the 29-story Cira Centre Building (2929 Arch Street), courtesy of Brandywine Realty Trust.
  • Also, the PECO building (2301 Market Street) will have a unique “Welcome Home Phillies” message displayed for all to see.

reception features the entire Phillies ball club, great food and drink,
and insight into the 2013 baseball season from Phillies executives. The
event also includes a question-and-answer session with various Phillies
players, autograph stations and a complimentary ticket for that
