ICA’s 50th Anniversary Gala

On April 30th Institute of Contemporary Art  University of Pennsylvania (ICA) hosted its annual benefit marking half a century as one of the leading contemporary art museums in the world sponsored by Saks Fifth Avenue and Stephen Starr Events; It marked half a century  as one of the leading contemporary art museums in   the world. For fifty years ICA has continuously provided   exhibition opportunities for artists from our region   and brought the best art from around the world to   Philadelphia. A non-collecting museum, ICA is one of   the only “kunsthalles” in the United States of America.   Located on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania,   ICA’s artist-centric program is complemented by the   intellectual rigor of a premier academic institution..

The evening’s gala will be celebrated with tributes by  distinguished guests Paula Marincola, executive director,   Pew Center for Arts & Heritage; Jayson Musson, artist;   and Adam Weinberg, Alice Pratt Brown Director, Whitney   Museum of American Art.

 Polaroid Portraits by artist Lucas Michael 
Artist Kara Walker has generously donated a limited  edition print in honor of the occasion available to   Golden Muse and Muse level donors. One unique   Polaroid portrait by artist Lucas Michael, whose work is  recognizable from New York magazine and the Golden   Globes awards, is included for Golden Muse subscribers. 
All proceeds from this event support ICA’s exhibitions and  programs.
