BREAKING NEWS re: Creed Movie – Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallones – SPOILER ALERT

Last week I was on the set of the movie Creed (Rocky 7), which has been filming in the Philadelphia area since January 26, 2015.

Sylvester Stallone (Rocky) has been out and about at several restaurants, ie Estia, D’Angelo’s, Le Virtue and Primo’s Hoagies, and on set, but the only sighting we’ve had of Michael B. Jordan (Adonis Creed) was a tip that he was at Fox and the Hound early in January. Last week he spent the day on the set of Adrian’s Restaurant, (Victor’s Cafe) in South Philadelphia at 13th and Dickenson.

Adrian’s restaurant, otherwise known as Victor’s Cafe in South Philly. Now destined to be a bigger attraction with the internet blowing the site up.

Creed will follow the son of Apollo Creed, yes son, early published reports said that it was Apollo Creed’s grandson, but the script was rewritten in January to make Jordon his son instead, and it makes sense. Update: Adonis Johnson (Jordan) never knew his famous father, world heavyweight
champion Apollo Creed, who died before he was born.  Still, there’s no
denying that boxing is in his blood, so Adonis heads to Philadelphia,
the site of Apollo Creed’s legendary match with
a tough upstart named Rocky Balboa. Apollo Creed died in 1985 when he was 43, his son can be no younger than 29. I first broke this story on Fox 29 last Tuesday about the change in the script. I thought something was up since they only cast Phylicia Rashad as Apollo Creed’s widow, and no one as Adonis’ parents. (Creed’s new re-write isn’t even updated on IMDB yet, so this is sizzling hot news.)

  Stallone
is set to reprise his Rocky Balboa role, acting as the younger Creed’s
reluctant trainer as he follows in his father’s footsteps to get in the ring. Even as he fights his own battle as rumor has it he has cancer.
Did you know Rocky was 31 years old when he fought Apollo Creed, so it’s not far fetch that Adonis would have his first major fight at age 30 ish.
Thanks to Green Eggs Cafe for letting me hang in their eatery for a couple hour to capture these photos, which appeared in Philly Mag, Philly Daily Newspaper and Philly Metro newspaper. Chris Murphy from Fox 29 and I filmed live segments of the action from inside of the cafe, getting the first shots of Stallone and Jordon for Good Day Philadelphia. (I’m on Fox 29 today at 8:30AM chatting about my favorite celebrity photos I’ve taken in the last 7 years.)
Directed by Ryan Coogler (center), the film is also produced by Stallone (r) along
with Robert Chartoff, Kevin King Templeton, and Irwin Winkler. Nicolas
Stern is executive producer. Creed was co-written by Aaron Covington and
Coogler.
Although it was a bright sunny day last Tuesday.
It was freezing out. Another theory has Adonis Creed being born after Apollo Creed dies, at the time Apollo Creed’s widow is 37 years old so it’s possible.
The scene I saw them rehearse, and then film for 3 hrs, consisted of Stallone unloading produce from a van and handing it off to a worker to bring into the basement of the eatery named after his deceased wife. (See the microphone about the actors head. It was important to me to get the name of the restaurant in this shot.) I bet the legs of those extras were pained the next day as they were actually walking up and down the basement steps all day.

Last Friday Creed filmed in the former Shampoo night club until the early evening.

This week the movie moves to Aston, PA with a cast of thousands of extras to film a major fight between Adonis Creed and his nemesis, Liverpool boxer and staunch Everton soccer fan Tony Bellew (Monday at PPL Park) who plays Pretty Boy Porter – the nemesis of Apollo Creed’s son.

A few weeks ago Stallone appeared with Bellew at an Everton soccer game in Liverpool, England. He filmed the fans during half time, which will be edited into the scenes filmed this week at SunCenter studios. He had them cheer wildly and then filmed them, very clever to get all those real Everton fans in the boxing movie. Here is a story and clip from the January filming at Everton, and includes what sounds like a theme song to be included in the movie.

You have to strain a little to hear it but it’s there. Creed is schedule to open on Thanksgiving 2015. (Did you know that the original Rocky opened on Thanksgiving 1976)
