The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) hosted the 31st annual Kidney Ball on March 14, 2015 welcoming nearly 400 people to Cescaphe’s Vie on North Broad Street. The MC’s for the evening were FOX 29’s Alex Holley, anchor and Good Day Philadelphia co-host, and Scott Williams, Chief Meteorologist.,
Every year the NKF honors a volunteer and physician who have championed
their mission and who is dedicated to helping those with kidney disease.
This year’s gala honored
Mr. Arthur Pasquarella, of Equus Capital Partners, Ltd., with the Bobby
Rydell Volunteer Honoree, and nephrologist Dr. Jeffrey Berns, of the
Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
A
live and silent auction took place and guests will be entertained
by the Ken Silver Orchestra and mummers from the Aqua String Band. The
Ball is estimated to raise over $435,000 Saturday evening, as well as
continued awareness for the treatment of kidney disease and all those helping to prevent it.

The MC’s for the evening at The Kidney Ball were two local personalities from FOX 29: Alex Holley, anchor and Good Day Philadelphia co-host, and Scott Williams, Chief Meteorologist. The MC’s called Bobby Rydell up to the stage to present Pasquarella The Bobby Rydell Volunteer Honoree Award. Before doing so Rydell talked about his double transplant, kidney and liver transplant in July 2012. Then he introduced Art Pasquarella and launched into the song “All of Me”, while presenting him with the award.
