To celebrate their grand opening today,

From 12-1pm and 4-6pm Revolution Taco will give away free smoked chicken tacos (one per person) as an introduction to the neighborhood and to
celebrate their first brick and mortar storefront.

Carolyn Nguyen and

Alan Krawitz

This is the first
brick and mortar for all three owners, who are known for their popular
food trucks Street Food Philly, Taco Mondo and Say Cheese.

When you walk into the eatery, there’s a collection of peppers from around the world on the right hand side. I can honestly say I never saw such a collection.

I asked a few of the servers which were their favorite taco’s – Sue Krawitz said it was the smoked chicken, which is exactly what you’ll be getting today.

BTW these chips and gauc are delicious. They’re going to have to enter the guacamole contest held by MANNA this year.

Khyania – loves house made Churizo

Approximately 10 different tacos, burritos
and empanadas at launch, Sultan said, and specials to be added once they
are underway. Trio plans to grow vegetables for use in dishes.
Condiment bar to feature house-made salsas, hot sauces and toppings –
including rotating seasonal selections.

Menu will include
tortillas wrapped around fillings like pork belly, lamb shoulder,
tongue, smoked mushrooms, Korean fried chicken, fried chick pea batter
and kimchi, in both taco and burrito form.
Empanadas will include a cornmeal gluten-free version, and torta-like
sandwiches are also planned (Sultan teased a version featuring
adobo-spiced house-cured bacon with spicy chorizo cheese sauce).
Alex Holley digs into the Tongue & Cheek as Mike looks on to explain exactly what she’s eating. She was brave and actually took several bites from the cow’s tongue and pig’s cheek taco. We periscoped it in all it’s glory here

Mike Adams on-air weekdays on Philadelphia’s 96.5 AMP, he’s on during the PM drive, with him is Mr Dee Jay Watts. MrD is on 96.5 AMP Radio every Sunday from 6-10PM! eJayWatts
Also spotted in the crowd was Fox 29’s Alex Holley, and Power 99’s Mina Say What. Nice to see these ladies out and about mingling with folks. Always amenable to take a photo with you.

Jan Reed and Susan Kourpanidis
Krawitz launched Say Cheese Philly earlier in 2011. He met Sultan and
Nguyen the first week that Street Food Philly was open at a food truck
round-up at the Piazza in Northern Liberties. The three developed a
friendship and unofficial partnership in teaching each other various
facets of the business – from the food to the business side of running a
food truck. In 2014, the three decided to open a brick and mortar
eatery – and bring together their differing skills and styles for one
unified concept. They found a location in Rittenhouse Square and
announced Revolution Taco in spring of 2015. All mobile trucks will continue to operate once Revolution Taco is fully opened.
