who brought the energy to Ladder 15 in Center City on Saturday, April 12, to celebrate the official launch of Crooked Tea, a new hard iced tea brand.
Brandon rolled deep with lots of fans, influencers, and friends
Saturday night quickly turned into an unforgettable Philly moment when Brandon surprised everyone by hopping behind the bar and passing out cans of Crooked Tea.
The crowd got the full Crooked Tea experienceâchilled cans, live selfies, nonstop laughs, and a taste of what the brand stands for: bold flavor, high energy, and unapologetic vibes.

At the kickoff event, both organizations celebrated their long-standing partnership, which has already resulted in the planting of tens of thousands of trees across our region. And theyâre not just talking the talkâ Matt Rader, President, Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, David Velazquez, President and CEO of PECO, PHS and PECO Volunteers rolled up their sleeves to help unload and sort over 900 trees that volunteers will plant throughout the week.
Itâs a great example of corporate-community collaboration making a lasting impact on our environment and neighborhoods. Thanks!!
At the Constitution Center yesterday, folks gathered to announce activities surrounding the 2nd annual Red, White & Blue To Do celebrations.
Celebrate 250 Years of Independence Where It All Began! Join us on July 2, 2025, for the spirited Red, White, & Blue To-DoParade and block party as we launch a year-long tribute to Americaâs 250th birthday! Throughout 2026, take part in 52 Weeks of Firstsâa full year of one-of-a-kind events commemorating the nationâs revolutionary roots. And donât forget the Red, White, & Blue To-Do Kids Paradeâa charming nod to July 2, 1776, the historic day Congress cast its vote for independence.
The two photos from Red White & Blue provided by the Philly Rep office. In this photo is Kathryn Ott Lovell, president and CEO of the Philadelphia Visitor Center Corporation and executive director of Philadelphia250 and Michael Newmuis, Philadelphia’s 2026 Director.
Thereâs a lot happening as we gear up for America 250, but letâs get through 2025 first! Wellâspeaking of firstsâI canât help but share how excited I am for one incredible event happening in 2026:
“The 52 Weeks of Firsts,” running from January through December 2026, will showcase Philadelphiaâs incredible creativity and rich, diverse history. As Amy Needle, President and CEO of Historic Philadelphia, Inc., puts it: âEach week in 2026, the Philadelphia Historic District partners will highlight a historic first from across the city, celebrating Phillyâs trailblazing legacy and its powerful impact over the past 250 yearsâan impact that still shapes the way we live today.â
Itâs going to be the largest and longest celebration of its kindâand I canât wait!
Last week Mike and I had a great night out at No Name Pops’ Sheâs Got Soulâa powerful tribute to soul and R&B classics, featuring the amazing Capathia Jenkins with the Pops. The music was fantastic and the energy in the room was electric and had everyone dancing in the aisle.
After the show, we attended a lovely reception where some big news was announced: the No Name Pops will officially be known as The Philly Pops again starting July 1! This is thanks to a generous gift from the family of original conductor Peter Nero, who retained the rights to the name after the previous organization faced some challenges.
Same talented musicians. Same iconic sound. New managementâand a fresh chapter ahead.
For my fellow empty-nesters who keep asking me for fun things to do? The Philly Pops should be at the top of your list.
Their first official concert under the revived name is on July 3 at Independence Mallâa beloved Philly tradition returning just in time for the America 250 festivities.
Just a little chit chat on hump day. Hope you’re week is going well.

Jen Su does much more than red carpet events, she’s a philanthropist as well. “Iâll also be involved in the upcoming CHOP: The Runway on May 19th â bringing together fashion and philanthropy.” âBut I feel eternally grateful,â added Jen . âAfter my son was airlifted to CHOP (Childrenâs Hospital of Philadelphia) when we lived overseas in 2017, he endured 3 years of chemo and treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Today he is cancer-free and CHOP saved his life. Iâm inspired by the resilience of these young kids.â

PS Last week I chitchatted about columns which aren’t picked up by my outlets. I over submit to each outlet, but until the magazine gets published I don’t know which ones they don’t run. Going forward I will publish them here, but they’ll be a few months old as I want you to know about these events, often yearly events you should attend.

He and his wife Kristina Burke, owned a popular Bella Vista restaurant named James from 2007 to 2011. Happy Thursday. It’s been a busy week. Lots of fun sightings, and happenings. Personally I’ve started PT for my broken shoulder, it’s nice to be out of the sling, but now comes the hard part. It hurts. In the sling not so bad. Anyway thankfully there are a lot of chitchatters out there who have sent me tips and news for me to share here and on the socials. Thank you!!
Will Smith was in Philly this week to promote his new album ‘Based on a True Story’ which drops tomorrow, March 28. On Tuesday night he held a listening party at the Hard Rock Cafe with a few lucky Philadelphian’s in the audience. Then on Wednesday morning they renamed 2000 N 59th Street in his honor. Last night he “Rang The Bell” at the Sixers game. Unfortunately it didn’t bring the Sixers any luck, as they lost to the Washington Warriors by 5 points.
From Mayor Cherelle Parker’s IG Account:
Will Smithâs journey has been nothing short of inspiring. From his roots of being born and raised in West Philadelphia, to his rise as a global superstar, heâs shown us all what it means to dream big and work hard. Â
We are incredibly proud to call @willsmith one of our own. His achievements are a reflection of the strength, resilience, and brilliance of Philadelphiaâs people.Â
As we rename 2000 N. 59th Street in Willâs honor today, letâs celebrate everything he representsâcreativity, kindness, and the power of community. Â
Susan Noles, NBC10 morning news anchor Keith Jones and his wife, Holly Joneswho recently celebrated the 6 month birthday of their baby boy Keith Jones III, at the Heart Ball Saturday.
I ran into Susan Noles at the AHA Heart Ball on Saturday night. The bold Aston nativeâwedding officiant, hairdresser, and now QVC starâwho gained fame on The Golden Bachelor in 2023, is returning to TV next month on Huluâs Got To Get Out. She shared that she recently took a fall and had surgery on her broken wrist, but that didnât slow her down. She continued her promotional tour, attending the Heart Ball on Saturday and appearing on QVC on Sunday to sell her meatballs. This past week she’s done interviews with the Philly Voice and the Inquirer on her upcoming reality show. Noles will be joining a diverse lineup of reality stars, including Spencer Pratt (The Hills), Cynthia Bailey (The Real Housewives of Atlanta), and Omarosa, along with âreality rookiesâ â everyday people such as firefighters and mathematicians. Sheâll also be competing alongside fellow Bachelor franchise alumni Demi Burnett and Clare Crawley. Tune in to Hulu April 11 to see â20 strangers locked in a house. They will receive clues to help them escape and steal a prize climbing to a million dollars.â
Congratulations to Jamie Byrd and Cherri Gregg, afternoon Host/Anchor for WHYY, on their recent wedding. Cherri just announced on her IG: We kept it simpleâjust the two of us and immediate family at City Hall. No fuss, just love.
Last night I caught the latest Broadway show to come through Philadelphia &Juliet!! The hit musical that reimagines Shakespeareâs Romeo & Juliet with a modern twist and a pop music soundtrack. Not since I first saw Wicked on Broadway have I enjoyed a new musical so much. It was original, yet a retelling of the classic William Shakespere love story. It’s at the Academy of Music through April 8th. INFO & Tickets.
Hello ChitChatters….My sling is off, and I now have use of my hand again. I hope to post more here. Sometimes I will be posting old content. I send party columns to Philly Mag, Philly Style and Main Line Today magazines. I usually send them two or three choices over the allotted choices, which may or may not be picked up by them.
This is one of the events that was not picked up, this was for ML Today as you will note their hometowns are listed, as is the requirement for that outlet. It’s rare I would run another photographer’s photos in my column (Mark Tassoni Photography) , but because of my hand I got permission, and in the end they didn’t run my column for April, zoink. This happens on occasion.
