PhillyGram: Celebrities in Philly, Newscaster News, Weddings, Babies & Fun Tidbits

The Barnes Foundation posted a photo, shared by Katie Adams, that supermodel of the world Helena Christensen and her friend, Barnes member, Patricia Garrubo stopped by their new exhibit “The World is an Apple: The Still Lives of Paul Cezanne” (which opened yesterday and runs through September 22. )

I covered the sponsor, patron party here on PhillyMag last week.
Former NBC Reporter Daralene Jones has settled into her new gig at WFTV in Orlando
The 6ABC news crew are a fit bunch, Cecily Tynan, Ali Gorman and Adam Joseph enjoy going to Joltin’ Jabs studio boxing between air times, now here’s Rick Williams pumping iron.
6 ABC meteorologist Cecily Tynan and husband Greg Watson are serious runners.

Justin Pizzi says drink more water.

Have you seen him lately, he looks great. All thanks to Crossfit and a serious Paleo Food Plan. He’s with our friend Erin Como who was in town this weekend. Erin used to run the news desk at NBCPhiladelphia, now she does traffic and reporting for Fox Nashville.
This weekend she had a mini reunion with her friends from NBC including Jillian Mele and Sheena Parveen. Here are the ladies at Rouge.

Last week Sheena was visiting Erin in Nashville, where they were doing fancy Yoga moves on paddle board.
Check NBCPhilly for another column on the Rittenhouse Ball I photographed on Thursday.

Pretty stoked it’s on the top of the first page, with my boss David Lipson from PhillyMag in the first shot.

Congrats to Alycia Lane who gave birth to a lovely little girl on Sunday.
Alycia, I can see Averie is adorable and loved. I love the matching outfits.
 Congrats Kyle & Dana!!
Kyle Scott owns the popular sports blog – CrossingBroad.com

Just a misunderstanding. Leslie Padilla posted this as “Wedding Day” and everyone including me thought wow they’re pretty casual for their wedding day. It turns out that it was their friends wedding day. Anyway I love the 3rd comment showing “I am on my 3rd marriage and have never been more happy and content. Enjoy!” Lisa H.

This weekend I got lots of inquirers on who was staying at the Warwick Hotel over the weekend. It was seriously locked down with lots of security and “secret service” police people said. It was Louis Farrakhan, in town to give a speech to his followers. As far as I’ve heard he remained inside the hotel all weekend.

Wizard World at the Pennsylvania Convention Center – Inside Stuff

Yesterday I headed to the Wizard World at the Pennsylvania Convention Center unfortunately it’s the only day I could enjoy as I am  booked solid this weekend. But I love love going, seeing the fans who are so enthusiastic. It makes my year. Go today, definitely go tomorrow. Plan to go next year. Here’s a little bit what you’ll see, but it’s barely the tip of the iceberg. One more thing, the fans are so friendly, you will make friends and the celebs are glad to see you too.

From Revenge of the Nerds: Brian Tochi and Curtis Armstrong
Immediately as I walked through the door I ran into Ed who told me he watches me on Fox 29. Hi Ed, Thanks!!

Everything begins in Hall F, which is located at 11th and Arch Streets

Love this, but first of all isn’t she too big for that baby carriage?

Bella Twins walking to their signing.

There was a serious VH1 Production team following them

They walked fast.

This was hysterical

This was the only shot I got as their security was tight with their no pixs allowed.

It’s always fun to shoot the happy fans.

Google Glass, and I guess that guy was tired of holding his briefcase or wanted to look silly on the VH1 tape

See the guard staring me down as I “shoot this from the hip.”

I think this is Lauren Cohan

This guy really got into his character

These peeps were in line for Karen Gillan

I should have picked up one of these

Last night the Walking Dead gang had dinner at Barclay Prime. Looks like their carnivorous too.

RISING FROM THE ASHES SUIT SHIRT PANTS CORNER SETS UP SHOP

Rising up back on the street….
Ashes is all that remains at 3rd and Market, where once stood an iconic store passed down through generations. It all ended for Gary Ginsburg on April 9 when the store caught fire and burned.
The business of dressing Philadelphia is in his blood and Gary didn’t let the moss grow under his feet. He found a spot not too far from his former Old City spot at 630 Market Street, between Jerry Blavet’s studio, Dunkin Donuts and across the street from the Federal Courthouse (which is a great location cause attorney’s, judges and criminals all need to dress to impress in that building.)
It’s also under a parking lot and near the Market Street Transportation.
The new store won’t replace the old store in their hearts, but Gary and his staff are excited to begin servicing their clients again, many of whose contacts burned in the unexpected fire. So let’s get the word out, Suit/Shirt/Pants Corner is open again at 630 Market Street. (Maybe if the Dunkin Donuts leaves they’ll take over the corner too.)
PS While doing research for today’s entry I came across this article that I hadn’t previously seen at the Phila Biz Journal.

Ian Michael Crumm wants you to Shop Like A Local

Earlier this month Palomar Hotel launched their “Shop Like A Local Guide” at the stylish hotel in Center City.
They chose 4 stylish Philadelphian’s and each one created their lookbook (A lookbook is a collection of photographs compiled to show off a model, a photographer, a style, or stylist or a clothing line.)

It won’t come as a surprise that they chose men’s fashionista columnist Ian Michael Crum to create just the perfect lookbook connecting tourist to the hippest, happening stores in our area. (his suit is from Les Richard’s at Shops of Liberty Place at 16th & Chestnut Street.)
Many of Philly’s stylish folks came out to wish him well at the launch including Sara Kelly and Courtney Lapresi (who is appearing right now on Season Five of Fox’s MasterChec with Gordon Ramsay, Joe Bastianich and Graham Elliot.)
Jacky Wright and Cassandra Wright (she recently launched Chosen, her apparel line.)
This cocktail Spodee seems to have blasted onto the social scene lately.
Linda Stewart ie Ian’s Glammie and Mom – Angie Hartman
Sheryl Raskin and Anthony Allen
Chandra Robbins and Matt Nadu (stylish himself, bringing the vest back in sans coat.)
Cori Moskow, Ilana Waber, guest and Randyl Case styling the crop top, which seems to be the hottest trend this season. As the summer wears on versions of this appear throughout Center City, but it has nothing to do with this hot style trend.
Evan and Lynsie Solomon and Rachel and Jason Cevera
Danielle Hankin and Alexander Hankin
Janice Waitkus, community relations at Lagos (Lagos was the hot jewelry Ian picked for the lookbook,) and Laura Burkhardt, Where Magazine. They just had their “Guest Book 2014” launch and I’ll be writing about that later this week.
Have you tried new Spring Menu, Lancaster Duck Confit, Dipping Trio, my favorite Brandywine River Texas Longhorn Burger and great wines.

Matthew Ray, Chatterblast and Michele Conron, Cashman & Associates
Bacon wrapped dates.
Check out the new LOOKBOOK here with Ian M Crumm’s favorite things….

Russell Simmons was in town to Chat ADD52 Chat w/QDeezy & do some YOGA

I used to run into Music mogul and longtime yogi, Russelll Simmons in NYC. He was always super nice, regular guy and friendly. We got to know each other on a first name basis as he lived near me and I saw him walking on the street a lot. He was in Philly Monday and this morning he took a yoga class at Philly Power Yoga & Thrive Pilates at 2016 Walnut
Street.

 He made the reservation online
and came in smiling as is his MO. He join a yoga class of about 30 people.

What started as a way for him to meet hot girls gave way to a passion that has changed his life, and he hopes, the lives of others. He

offers his breakdown of meditation made easy—making it an invaluable
tool that’s accessible to anyone, anywhere, Russell Simmons style.
