Party Pixs: Ted Baker London Opens in Style at the KOP Mall

Earlier this month Ted Baker celebrated their GRAND OPENING, with party with style.

It’s easily reached, located at KOP Mall near Nieman Marcus with plenty of parking but a rolling party trolley brought some of the most stylish folks from Philadelphia to the party.

Leaving from Skai Blue Media’s showroom at 3PM helped get the party started early.

Curran J, Taylor Green, Ian Crumm, Lauren Mantilla, Dom
Streater,  Evan Shapiro, Brittany
Stewart, Quentin Washington, Cory Hindorff, Sabir Peele, Alice Chan,  Dallas Shaw,
and Alexander Kacala

Heading to the VIP party, the stylish crew tweeted their excitement on what might be in store.

Ted Baker has nice colorful clothes for the ladies.

I love the checkout area with lots of bell accents

There was entertainment,

not always what you expected.

Each Ted Baker store is unique. The one in KOP, just outside of Philly, incorporates a lot of the colonial symbols that we love in historic Philadelphia.
Ted Baker has an extensive collection of men’s clothing.

Photos: Night Market in Old City #NightMkt #VisitPhilly #NewFoodTruck Coming

Last night I photographed two events, Night Market and the Annual Franklin Square Gala. I took the long way from Fairmount and hit up the very start of Night Market in Old City before heading to the square, then came back later in the night. The first one of the season.

It was held on 3rd and Arch Streets. It was a good spread of space.
There’s such great character in this area, once a thriving, bustling area, somehow it lost it’s charm in the past few years. There are still pockets of charm (Scarlett Ally, Clay Studio, Book Trader), art galleries and new stores are popping up, but the Market Street corridor and south or Market has become hot and pulled the people that way. It’s due for a comeback soon. Anywho…
Smak Parlor – a genius idea, now being repeated by others. It’s a fashion store on wheels that pops up at festivals and events.
I love shooting festivals, there are always the most interesting characters there
Old City is a great place to live. I like that work is getting a little dressier lately.
Night Market provides maps for the location of all the food trucks.
Let’s talk about these trucks: OMG the concept has really BLOWN UP. I think the first food truck that moved Philly’s thoughts from dirty, destination food truck to mobile, delicious cuisine had to be Buttercup Cupcakes.
Someone on the food scene showed me their new food truck which they’ll be launching soon. (I took this photo w/my phone of their phone and well, it serves the purpose here since I’m not allowed to talk about it, yet.)
Sometimes food trucks still look like they should be cited for being “dirty”. I guess it’s hip to look like a food market stand in rural America.
The cross roads of Old City Night Market 3rd and Arch, at 530PM
8PM. Society Hill Dance Academy was doing their thing. Love the gal with the “boom box”
Looking down 3rd Street from Arch
The night was very successful. There were long lines at many of the food trucks. Some people I chatted with waited up to 45 minutes to eat some mac & cheese.
but it was worth it, these two told me.
 Thanks for reading PhillyChitChat

 except to capture memories

There were a lot of food court tables, but they filled up quickly.
 Hey!!

They I had to go, I was starving and had less patience than these folks.

Oh Baby Chase and Jen Utley, Alycia Lane, Aditi Roy and Brent Celek is off the market.

Last night at the Union League the Jimmy Rollins Family Foundation held their annual bash. This year’s theme: Taste of the World: Bollywood Bash 2014. It was great as many of his teammates were on hand to support his cause, and they dressed for the occasion. (I will cover the whole bash in my Philly Mag column which should be published by noon today update: Here, in the meantime THE BIG STORY OF THE NIGHT.)

Jen and Chase Utley are about to become parents again.
Jen to me, I’m not getting fat, I’m pregnant. Yeah, I don’t know if anyone in the press room was as excited as I was. Mr and Mrs Baseball are going to have another little Benjamin or Betty. Both of them were glowing as you can see. Friends of the couple tell me she is due in late fall, near the end of the baseball season. That seems to be the trend with baseball players.
Here are a lot of the pretty wives of the Phillies. OK I don’t know who the first gal is, but she’s pretty. Then it’s Trisha Manship,Stephenie Kendrick, Jen Utley, Heidi Hamels and Krystal Howard.

More baby news, as tweeted by me, then written more extensively by Philly Daily News’ Molly Eichel – former anchor at CBS3, Alycia Lane (who then moved to LA to take a job) is expecting a baby in June. Her sister Nicole took these photos, and I’m using them with permission.

Congrats Alycia, you look beautiful.
Congrats to former NBC10 anchor, now ABC reporter, Aditi Roy. She left Philly a few years back, to take a job in LA with ABC (I see a trend that LA), got married and now she’s a mom.
Brent Celek is off the market. Facebook notifications are like promise rings or being pinned by your favorite boyfriend in high school on Happy Days.
Please Check out today’s other entry where you’ll find Gov Ed Rendell & his disco ball.

CHIP KELLY STOPS BY JEREMY MACLIN’S BIRTHDAY PARTY

Friday night I stopped by Philadelphia Eagles Jeremy Maclin at Prime Stache in Old City.
to wish Jeremy Maclin a happy birthday.

Jeremy invited me to take some photos. I said who would you like to pose with his defensive line:
Evan Mathis and Jason Kelce
Jay Amin, Meesh Merlini, Drew Carballo (hosted the party for Jeremy), Marissa Frommer

A few ladies were on hand
This was a low key, laid back party. I appreciate the invite, especially to hang out and catch up with everyone, so I didn’t work hard to catch everyone’s name. What I did notice is a team that enjoys each others company. In years gone by I’ve photographed many private players parties, and they were crazy, some drama filled. This was a bunch of friends really enjoying each others company. Chip Kelly arrived near midnight, after a night of draft picking, something I really didn’t understand until this year when I followed Michael Sam’s draft pick.
Chip and Jeremy spent a good amount of time chatting; he no doubt noticed the healthy food being served and the size of the cake created by Sweets Bake Shop. Chip’s whipping this team into shape. All the players told me that they are working out, conditioning and getting plenty of sleep.
Chip has the players wearing sleep wrist bands to measure their sleeping, and making sure everyone gets plenty of rest. Recently there’s been a lot of studies on the importance of sleep, and this is not lost on Chip.  It seems that all the players are making appearances at local charities in the area, as well as supporting each others ventures; follow my twitter to see which events are coming up, many of them being golf outings.
Gervase Peterson, Andrea Martin, Ray Martin,
Gervase’s company Burnz is one of the sponsors for
6/6/14 6PM

Former Miss Philadelphia 2013 – Francesca Ruscio and Laura Traub
Jacky Wright and Cassandra Wright (she recently launched Chosen, her apparel line.)
DJ Arun spinning
Mike, Brittany Conner, Nick Albater
There were a few other player who arrived in waves, but after about an hour I put my camera away cause as a photographer/guest I could tell it was time. So there are no Riley Cooper & Chip Kelly pics, and a few others folks who came in singing and high fiving their friends.
I do want to say is how great is it that out of all our professional sports players, the Eagles seem to stay in the off season. They open business’, buy homes and support our charities. Thanks.
Danielle Cohn and Marisa Magnatta (not pictured Christie Honigman, who was getting me a diet coke, then ran into a friend to chat.)
Quarterback Nick Foles (L) and some players. You know I don’t really watch sports, but it’s on my bucket list this year to change that.

Impressive wing span of Brent Celek

Elizabeth Dee and Todd Herremans (newly engaged)
Arthur Scena, Drew “The Mayor” Carballo , Jason Kelce (Is his nickname Bear?)

Sam Tarlo (cousin), J Jones, Marcus Harris (New York giants), Lesean Mccoy (Don’t call me shady now that DeSean is gone), Connor Barwin (Hes making an appearance Saturday night at the International House Gala. I’m running a contest for tickets HERE.), Bernard Hopkins (light heavy
weight champ. He and his wife Brooklyn are in my May PhillyMag column this month.), Jeremy Maclin, The Mayor, Brent Celek

UNITED TIRE & SERVICES, unite together to form a more perfect Union

A few weeks ago I traveled out to the Mainline to attend a marriage of tire business in order to serve you better, as well as to remain strong as a unit. A group of 17 independent tire stores in the Delaware Valley has united against big box retailers and national tire dealers to form United Tire & Services.

 By
joining forces, this group of tire dealers and auto repair facilities
is able to offer the consumer the most competitive pricing on big name
brands like Goodyear and Michelin – while still providing the high level
of customer service expected from a local center.

All the locations will keep the same owner/operators, who are equity
owners in the overall group, as well as the same management and
ASE-certified staff. Each owner lives in their local community, and
“each store will be dedicated to contributing to their local community’s
economic development… we expect employment to increase across the
network by over 10%.”
David Neff, Neff Associates

In honor of this exciting venture United Tire & Services made a donation of $5,000, as well as a percentage of proceeds from
opening day sales to Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), an
organization close to their hearts. MADD is the nation’s largest
nonprofit working to protect families from drunk driving and underage
drinking. The donation will be made in the name of Ian Mann, a mechanic
from the Downingtown location who was tragically killed by a drunk
driver.

“We are now able to compete and win with every major national tire
center chain without compromising our mission to not only meet our
customers’ expectations but to exceed them,” said Ken Sylvester, United
Tire & Service president.
President Ken Sylvester (2nd from left) and other United Tire owners cut the ribbon.
UNITED Tire & Service is a network of 17 tire and auto repair
facilities throughout the Delaware Valley, locations include: Ambler,
Colmar, Concordville, Downingtown, East Caln, Feasterville, Havertown,
Lower Merion, The Main Line, NE Philadelphia, Phoenixville, Quakertown,
Rosemont, Southampton, West Chester, Willow Grove and Wilmington, with
more to come.
For more information on United Tire & Service please visit www.unitedtire.com. And make sure to stay connected on Facebook.
