Philly Fashion Bloggers Get Caught with Swarovski at Le Méridien Philadelphia

“See Who Got Caught in Swarovski” is a series of
posts sponsored by Swarovski. Find out more
about Swarovski at
getcaughtphilly.com.

Talk about chic dining, I joined some of Philadelphia’s most
fashionable bloggers for dinner with Swarovski in the private dining room at Le
Méridien
Philadelphia’s Amuse brasserie. Even the menus and place cards were
Swarovski-adorned, like this one I photographed with their New York bangles.

I met Kerrie McLellan, Director of Marketing, Swarovski. As you can
see, she sparkles just like the brand, as did Daneen Bair (pictured here), the
blogger behind Spoiled Pretty.

Also in attendance were
Jessie Holeva from Trend Hungry and Natalia Galvis
from Fashion of Philly.
As well as Jade Barnes from
Style Wallflower, who mentioned that her mother is also a big Swarovski fan.
The Swarovski team shared
more about the Get Caught Philadelphia campaign, which you’ve probably seen all
around Philadelphia and South Jersey.
And made a big announcement.
The jewelry company has partnered with Le Méridien Philadelphia and created “The Getaway,”
an exclusive high-end cocktail served in a custom-crystalized Swarovski martini
glass with a $1000 price tag benefiting the Philadelphia charity of the
imbiber’s choice.

The
fashionable pair that “get caught” enjoying this libation will leave with a set
of these glasses and two pieces of sparkling Swarovski jewelry (including a
handsome pair of men’s cufflinks). Proceeds from the cocktail will be donated
to the Philadelphia charity of their choice.

The
bloggers tasted “The Getaway” and some other new cocktails from Le Meridien’s
new “Sparkling” menu.
 After
dinner, there was one last reveal – the attendees all received individual gift
bags with Swarovski pieces to #GetCaughtPHL in.

Natalia
Galvas
Got Caught in the iconic Swarovski Nirvana ring.

As
did the always stunning Nena Boling of Beauty and Britches.
 The
effervescent Jessie Holeva added more sparkle to her sparkle with the Slake
bracelet.

 It
was a lovely evening and I am particularly excited about the charitable
component to the $1000 cocktail. It’s a sparkling way to give to a local
charity before the year ends.  Read more about the $1000 cocktail in Michael Klein’s column here.

Back Row (L-R): Nena of Beauty & Britches, Jacqueline of Burgundy Whispers, Natalia of Fashion of Philly, Melissa of Swarovski, Jade of Style wallflower, Jessie of Trend Hungry, Jimmy of Philly Street Style, and Kerrie and Terri of Swarovski.

See those posts near the Fountain on the Art Museum Steps, they should put a set near the top of the steps

See those posts near the fountain on the Art Museum Steps, they should put a set near the top of the steps to prevent cars from slipping down the steps, as well as the future dare devils who want to travel down the steps. They’re good to sit on too.   This was the car used in the new movie Franny with Richard Gere. DR J & DORYS ERVING’S GALA and THE PHILADELPHIA ZOO GALA (you have to see the room decorations)

Monday was a banner day for HughE Dillon LLC. First I was on B101 chatting about Kim & Kanye, then I made an appearance on Fox 29’s Good Day Philadelphia with Mike Jerrick and Shenielle Jones. I had 4 different columns in Philly.com, PhillyMag, PhillyChitChat.com and Liberty City Press. So crazy, and so little sleep Sunday night. But it was definitely a career highlight day for me. Thanks.

Inaugural Dorys Erving Fit Youth (DEFY – get it?) Foundation Celebration

Nicole Cashman with sponsor of the evening – Double Cross Vodka. Check out the rest of the photos of the event on Philly.com and see what Mrs Erving wore to the Double Cross Vodka Afterparty, sexy.
 Big Rube & The Phanatic
OMG this room is gourgeous. Pencora Events did the room, and Brian Toner of Eventions did the lighting & AV. Check out my Philly Mag Column HERE for the rest of the story.

Maria Papadakis Gets Caught with Swarovski at the Cherry Hill Mall

Maria Papadakis Gets
Caught with Swarovski at the Cherry Hill Mall
“See Who Got Caught in Swarovski” is a series of
posts sponsored by Swarovski. Find out more
about Swarovski at
getcaughtphilly.com.
You never know who you may catch at a Swarovski boutique. This week
I caught Comcast SportsNet and Philly.com correspondent, Maria Papadakis,
popping into the Swarovski store at the Cherry Hill Mall.
Maria lit up the store with these Fit Crystal Golden Shadow
earrings.
And modeled the Swarovski by
Shourouk Bangle.

And here she is wearing Swarovski by Shourouk
Kaki Pendant. Really loving how you are adding sparkle to your Philly Flyers
jersey! You know how to make everyday extraordinary, Maria!

In fact, while she certainly
looked fab on the way in to the boutique, she absolutely dazzled as she exited.

Philly “Mob Wives” star Alicia DiMichele Having an Affair with a Married Philly Restaurateur

Wild new “Mob Wives” star Philly’s own Alicia DiMichele is already in hot water
with the feds, but a source claims she’s about to be in even deeper
trouble with her husband, jailed Colombo family associate Edward “Tall
Guy” Garofalo Jr.

Natalie Merlino (Joey’s sister) and Alicia DiMichele at the Grand Opening of Addiction Boutique at East Passyunk on June 20, 2013

A well-connected source tells Page Six: “Alicia is being portrayed
[on the show] as the loving, concerned mob wife of her incarcerated
husband. But our source suspects otherwise, claiming that, “Alicia has been having an affair
with a Philadelphia restaurateur who’s a convicted felon, and it has
become common knowledge among their circle of friends. [The restaurant
owner’s] wife even seems to tolerate them as a couple.

Was it someone at her store opening which I photographed for Philly.com back in June?

OMG FOODIES WE HAVE A MYSTERY ON OUR HANDS, who is it? It shouldn’t be too hard to pin down. Can’t be Neil Stein, he’s a tad to old for her and well he’s dating someone in my condo building. Who is it then?

MAC’S TAVERN in Rittenhouse Square at 19th and Chestnut – Not Happening, Pearl Properties Monopolizes

I recently learned that the long talked about Mac’s Tavern on the west side of Broad Street, is not going to happen at 1904 Chestnut Street after all. Seems Little Pete, who owns the property, has sold the spot to Pearl Properties.

If you’re not familiar with Pearl Properties, you should be; they are the preeminent developers of such great apartment buildings of late as The Sansom, and one I recently covered The Granary, which

they have since sold at a decent profit.
When I heard the Little Pete’s property was sold, and verified it with Little Pete (he runs an eatery in my condo building), a lightbulb went off. Hey Pearl Properties owns the vacant lot next to the Little Pete’s property. I remember years ago when 1904 was Pearl, the Stein brothers wanted to buy it to expand on their popular nightclub, but Pearl Properties wouldn’t sell it. Anyway …
I checked with a few people, and sure enough Pearl Properties bought the recently closed Dollar Store (the sale was recorded at the end of October); now I hear the building that houses the Qdoba is also under contract. I’m excited to see what happens next with this parcel of land, which is a few blocks away from the tony Rittenhouse Square; I’m sure it will be a first class, amenities filled apartment building no doubt, especially if you’ve seen their other projects. It’s great to see the City is making a huge comeback with so many new living spaces being developed, and it’s exciting to see a Chestnut Street revival. Now if only the plans for the Boyd Theater could be executed (see Michael Klein’s column), which is the building on the other side of the empty property to the right near the tree.

KANYE AND KIM KARDASHIAN EAT THEIR WAY THROUGH PHILADELPHIA

Thanks to my tipster who texted me Saturday morning to tell me about Kanye and Kim eating at Wendy’s 15th and Chestnut Streets late Friday night, I was the first news organization to get the word out.
This shot was taken by boogasuga Friday night as Kanye was chowing and Kim was texting, cause she’s on the Atkins Diet and there’s really nothing at Wendy’s for her, PLUS seriously she was probably texting Reggie Bush “This fool took me to Wendy’s and not Del Frisco’s across the street!!”, please take me back and get rid of that ho look a like!!
Then Saturday night a friend texted me to tell me Kimye were at Serafina having dinner, but I couldnt get away as I was with Mike enjoying The Attic’s 20th Anniversary Gala at Crystal Tea Room. (which I’ll write about later in the week, and talk about on Good Day Philly today at 937AM)
I was the first to let you know about their dinner in Philly Saturday night when I tweeted the above. (note the tweet before mine was dated 7/15 when Kimye hit up the NYC Serafina.)
On the menu:
A source said Kim “ordered for herself, and had the truffle pizza and chardonnay. Kanye had the rigatoni bolognese.”  Then an hour later the dude was on stage at the Wells Fargo Center working it off!!
Then the duo flew out of Philly, with Khloe, on their private jet to Boston.
There’s a story about what Kim & Kanye were wearing The Daily Mail today here.

20th GORE-TEX ® Philadelphia Marathon RESULTS – 2013

A Spectacular Day of Running and Celebration at the
20th GORE-TEX ® Philadelphia Marathon
International runners claim the top spots in the marathon as the course record falls in women’s half marathon.
PHILADELPHIA  (November 17, 2013) — Celebrating the 20th running
of the Marathon, there was plenty of excitement among the crowd of more
than 60,000 that lined the race course to cheer on the field of 30,000
registered participants.
Amid excellent conditions, including a start time temperature of 52 degrees, Ethiopian Abebe
Mekuriya, a seasoned marathoner running his first marathon on U.S.
soil, captured the 2013 GORE-TEX® Philadelphia Marathon title with time
of 2:17:35.  In the women’s division, Russian Irina Alexandrova took the
top spot with a time of 2:39:06.
Marathon
While Mekuriya captured the crown in the Men’s Marathon, fellow Ethiopian Tesfaye
Dube of NY finished second with a time of 2:18:15 and Nick Hilton,
running his first-ever marathon, captured third with a time of 2:19:36.
“At mile sixteen I felt like I had the win if I just continued to run my race,” said the 2013 GORE-TEX ® Philadelphia Marathon Men’s Champion Abebe Mekuriya.  “I was excited to win my first race here in the United States.”
Following Alexandrova , the Women’s field was rounded out by two Ethiopian runners,

Tezeta Dengersa of Washington, DC who finished second with a time
of 2:40:13, followed by Meseret Basa (now of New York, NY) who clocked
in at 2:40:51.

“The
course was great, the crowds and today’s conditions were very good.  I
felt comfortable during the race.  I very much wanted to win today and
am very happy with my win,” said The 2013 GORE-TEX ® Philadelphia
Marathon Women’s Champion Irina Alexandrova.
Jae
Yung Hyung of Alburquerque, NM took the top spot in the Men’s Masters
division, as Mary Pardi took the title in the Women’s Masters division.
Half Marathon
The
cheering fans along Benjamin Franklin Parkway erupted as Rkia El Moukim
crossed the finish line with a record-setting performance, taking the
top spot in The GORE-TEX® Philadelphia Half Marathon Women’s division.
Her 1:10:53 performance broke the record set last year by Misiker
Mekonnin Demissie.   El Moukim also set a course record at yesterday’s
Rothman 8K.
There
was a repeat winner in the men’s division as well, as Elijah Karanja
won today’s half marathon after also capturing the title at yesterday’s
Rothman 8K.  Karanja, who trains alongside the 2013 GORE-TEX® Philadelphia Marathon Women’s champion Irina Alexandrova, clocked in at 1:02:59.
Eric Shafer of Pittsburgh, PA took the title in the Men’s Master division  of the Half Marathon, as Vicky Jasparro Fredericksburg, VA took first in the Women’s Masters division.
Celebrating 20 Years of Running
“Whether it’s runners over the past 20 years, the thousands toeing the start line this weekend, or a future generation 20 years from now, runners will continue to run,” said Kirk Christensen, GORE-TEX® Running Footwear Global Leader.  “GORE-TEX® footwear is proud to be part of this milestone year of a long-standing Philadelphia tradition.”
Although much has changed for the race over the past 20 years, one thing remains the same – the GORE-TEX® Philadelphia Marathon continues its commitment to making Race Weekend memorable for everyone involved. In 1994, there was a cross race registration total of 1,500, compared to this year’s 30,000 registered runners.
