Photos: The 3rd annual Girard Avenue Street Festival in Brewerytown.

Over a thousand people attended the 3rd annual Girard Avenue Street Festival in Brewerytown.

Saturday I headed to the 3rd annual Girard Avenue Street Festival in Brewerytown. I live about a half mile away, but rarely go towards that area, as Center City always has my attention. What I found was a very vibrant neighborhood, friendly folks, and lots of new businesses.

I think it’s the new gayborhood too. Hey Sue Daugherty, Meg Paszko and Rich who all live within a block a Girard Ave in Brewerytown, not too far from Green Eggs and the two breweries that have popped up.

Council President Darrell L. Clarke greets the staff of The Arc of Philadelphia who’s mission is to advocate with and for all children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.
