Red Carpet Photos: Bradley Cooper Opens on Broadway in The Elephant Man (Dedicated to his biggest fan Christie Honigman aka Mrs. Bradley Cooper sometime soon.)

The only royal event that Philadelphian’s care about happening in New York City was our hometown boy Bradley Cooper opening on Broadway in the much anticipated Elephant Man .

The show has been in previews for about a month, which is when the show works out any kinks and timing issues.

During this time theater goers
enjoy a full show, as well as a chance to meet the cast at the stage door.I find this is the time that most of the stars of the plays friends attend as well.  Robert DeNiro saw the show 2 weeks ago.

Press can
attend, but nothing can be written until after the official opening

Not only am I excited to see the Elephant Man for coop, but OMG I’m going to see The Elephant Man cause Scott Lowell, of Queer As Folk fame (Ted). My twitter followers know I am in the middle of re-watching the 2000 – 2005 ground breaking, award winning series.
That’s nice Anna Wintour came out for support. That says a lot.

Based on the real life of
Joseph Merrick, THE ELEPHANT MAN tells the story of a 19th-century
British man (Cooper) who became a star of the traveling freak show
circuit. When the renowned Dr. Treves (Nivola) takes Merrick under his
care, he is astonished by the man’s brilliant intelligence, unshakable
faith and, most of all, his resounding desire for love and
understanding. He introduces Merrick to the beautiful actress Mrs.
Kendal (Clarkson), who is deeply touched by this pure and genuine soul.
As a complex friendship blossoms among the three, Treves and Kendal
struggle to protect Merrick from a world of questionable intentions… and
so begins a story of love as unique as “The Elephant Man” himself.

Two-time Academy Award® nominee Bradley Cooper (American Hustle, Silver
Linings Playbook) returns to Broadway in Bernard Pomerance’s Tony
Award®-winning classic THE ELEPHANT MAN. Directed by Tony nominee Scott
Ellis, THE ELEPHANT MAN is one of the hottest productions to emerge from
the prestigious Williamstown Theatre Festival, where it had
theatergoers lining up hours ahead of time in the hopes of securing a
ticket. This extremely limited engagement also stars Academy Award
nominee and Emmy® Award winner Patricia Clarkson (“Six Feet Under”) and
Alessandro Nivola (American Hustle).
