Devon Horse Show Kicks off with A Ribbon Cutting at The New Devon Club
Happy Memorial Day. Thank you to all the service people who have fought for our freedom, and who continue to fight for democracy. The Devon Horse Show Week officially began on last Wednesday, May 25, 2016 as guests gathered on the Devon grounds for First Night, the next night there was a Ribbon Cutting. The annual event not only opens the show, but also gives guests a sneak preview of the artwork on display and for sale in the Art Gallery at Devon. The Horse Show is ongoing throughout the day and evening. Some days have a short break for dinner. Gates will open daily at approximately 8:00 a.m. and close at approximately 10:00 p.m. each day. The Country Fair area opens about 10:00 a.m. for the Midway and Shopping. The first Sunday, the gates will open at 11:00 a.m. and the Horse Show classes will start at 12:00 p.m.

Founded in 1896, it is one of the most prestigious equestrian events in the country and one of the largest volunteer fundraising efforts in the nation as well. The ong oing commitment to Bryn Mawr Hospital is extremely important to both the leadership and the over two thousand of volunteers at the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair. Since 1972, the Devon Country Fair has donated nearly $20 million to Bryn Mawr, to support projects such as the Emergency Department, the Comprehensive Breast Center, Maternal – Fetal Medicine program, the Outpatient Diagnostic Center, and various other improvement programs
