The 3rd Annual Zarwin Baum FASHION TOUCHDOWN – Eagles Players Take On the Catwalk

Good Sunday morning. Earlier this week I attended Zarwin Baum Fashion Touchdown. Titled that because it was an event created by Zarwin Baum, a Center City lawfirm client of mine; and conceptualized by Stacey Kracher. The first event happened at Boyds with

Mike Jerrick and Alex Holley as co-hosts, which they have done every year since. Vie came next, great venue, delicious food and this year it was held at The Ben Franklin Ballroom at 9th and Chestnut Street. Lately the BFB has been a hotspot for events with Finely Caterer’s handling the food. This year the fashion were curated by Nicole Miller featuring her Fall 2016 Fashion line and the proceeds benefited Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence Region.

Photos: The Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show 2016

Good Saturday morning. I took a little break this week from blogging, but at the end of today’s entry I will connect you with a few of the parties that landed in the media. I will definitely be catching up with all the events I have covered in the past 2 weeks and I apologize for being side track and then complete down and out. Lots of great things happening in Philadelphia, and I’ll fill you in on some of them tomorrow in Sunday’s edition of PhillyGossip on PhillyChitChat. One of the events I covered was for my client the Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show. Ive shot for them for the past 5 years, and it’s always a spectacular show with good quality crafts. Prices range from affordable to I need to take out a loan. What it does proved is delicious eye candy, and great ideas for decorating.  It’s a nice getaway from life for a few hours. Here’s the site with ticket info.

A Few Election Day Festivities I hit Up, and Who I Saw

Yesterday I hit up a few spots to check out election day festivities. In years gone by politicians used to go to the 4th Street Deli on Election Day, and I did too. In the past few years they started going to Relish as well. Last year it seemed that most chose Relish (7152 Ogontz Ave) over the Bella Vista stop.

This year I went to Relish and it was great fun, plus the food is DELICIOUS!!

What I Know So Far, Staging, How Long is the Line for Hillary Clinton Rally at Independence Park

First of all don’t be intimidated by the crowd that has already started to line up for tonight’s event. Hillary Clinton will campaign in Philadelphia, joined by President Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, President Bill Clinton and Chelsea Clinton, on Independence Mall on Monday, November 7. The Clintons and Obamas will also be joined at the event by Jon Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen, who will perform.

11-7-2016-2-19-12-pm-custom

IN 2008, Just four days before the April 22 primary in Pennsylvania, Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama made another campaign stop in Philadelphia. This time, the turnout was higher than expected.  Frank Friel, director of security at the Independence Visitor Center, estimated that 35,000 people attended a rally for the senator Friday night. The estimate increased from an initial prediction of 10,000 before the rally began, another official said. (source)

So Far today’s line stretches nearly 5 blocks

230PM the line was nearing Pine Street

UPDATE as of 4PM the line is at 4th and Catherine

Clinton

This is the north side of the stage, which will be completely blocked off to people. I happened upon it on the way to do my segment at Fox 29 this morning. The stage is to the right next to the Independence Visitor Center.

Clinton

This is the view from across the street facing NORTH. The stage is to the left now FACING EAST, and in the center, which you really can’t make out is the PRESS RISER. It’s here were press from around the world will be capturing this historic event. Only notable guests, like families and and dignitaries will be seated here. BTW Where is Tim Kaine, will he be here tonight? Haven’t heard much about Tim lately….hmmm . I’m sure the powers to be have set up huge loud speakers, and TV Screens for youse way in the back. I did see gigantic lights in place to light up the night as if it were daytime.

Clinton

YOU THE AUDIENCE, will be here, standing in front of the historic Independence Hall. Tens of thousands of you will be standing here, please leave your beach chairs at home. Bring a warm coat, and don’t drink too much water. If you’ve even been to TIME SQUARE on News Year’s, or heard about the stories, you know you’re not allowed to leave to go to the bathroom. Now I’m not sure that is the law of the land, but I do know if you have to go, there’s a good chance you’re not going to get back to the spot you were at earlier, unless your name is Melissa Leonard, she seems to be able to talk her way into anything, sports, celebrity parties, concerts, hanging on the field with the Eagles, hanging with One Direction in their hotel room, yeah her. Anyway you got the picture.

At Independence Hall in Philadelphia, Hillary Clinton to Urge Pennsylvanians to Vote at Final Rally Before Election Day

Clinton to Make Closing Argument Joined By Her Family, President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama

At a rally the night before Election Day, Hillary Clinton will campaign in Philadelphia, joined by President Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, President Bill Clinton and Chelsea Clinton, on Independence Mall on Monday, November 7. The Clintons and Obamas will also be joined at the event by Jon Bon Jovi, who will perform.
With Independence Hall as the backdrop, Clinton will urge Pennsylvanians to make history on Tuesday by electing her president so she can continue pushing for the American ideals of progress, inclusion, equality and strength that our founders enshrined in our Constitution there in 1787.
Along with President Obama, she will also lay out how the division and dangerous views espoused by Donald Trump in his campaign make him unqualified, unfit and unworthy to lead this great nation. President Obama will add that voting for Clinton on Tuesday is also a vote to build on the progress made under his presidency, such as protecting and strengthening expanded access to health care including women’s health, advancing LGBT equality, combating climate change, tackling college costs and student debt, expanding the right to vote, and more.
With more people voting in this election than any in history, Pennsylvanians can visit iwillvote.com to make a plan to vote on Election Day and find important voting information they may need.

Photos: Yippee ki-yay CCTC Annual Roundup Gala Gallops in at 16 Years

The Loews Philadelphia Hotel was transformed into a Western watering hole for Children’s Crisis Treatment Center’s 16th Annual Roundup. Nearly 400 guests wore their best “Western chic” attire for an evening of cocktails, dinner and silent auction.  Fearless guests stepped up for a ride on a mechanical bull!  Proceeds from the annual Roundup support services that address the effects of abuse, neglect, and other challenges to early childhood development and assist children in reaching their full potential within their homes, communities, and society. Currently, CcTC provides services to over 800 children, and treats over 1800 children and their families over the course of the year.

Scoop on Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom Dine, Nicki Minaj, Will Smith, Stevie Wonder, Debra Messing in Philly

Philly Gossip on PhillyChitChat Every Sunday and Thursday – Scoop on Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom Dine, Nicki Minaj, Will Smith, Stevie Wonder, Debra Messing in Philly

Good Sunday morning.  So sad it’s almost over but let’s celebrate and get out today and enjoy this last weekend of super beautiful fall blooms.

general-meade-small-custom

I’m headed to Lancaster and areas north and west to see what I can capture today. This is General Meade, he’s located behind the Please Touch Museum.  So many Clinton celebrity events I had to miss this election cycle as I was booked to shoot client parties or working the following day getting these photos into the media, and sending the unused ones back to clients. Let’s see what I did get, and what I pulled off of social media. It’s another edition of Philly Gossip PCC. (Sundays and Thursdays right here.)

Katy

Friday night Stevie Wonder performed for a Hillary Clinton GOTV at Coda Philly, hey all my friends are in this photo. As I predicted he sang everyone’s favorite song “Isn’t She Lovely”, I guess that wasn’t a surprise. Me I went to the circus, see photos Monday in the Metro.
When I passed by at 6PM, the line was nearly a block long. I spoke to those in the front and they had gotten there at 130PM for their hopefully front row position.
Katy
I got back from the UniverSoul Circus in Fairmount Park (it was great) in time for the GOTV Gayborhood Bar Crawl with politicians and celebs on Friday night.
Mover, shaker, millennial standout and Liberty City Democrat Board Member Malcolm Kenyatta, Gene Barbera (FOR  ie Friend of Rendell) and Debra Messing

Debra Messing on Friday night. Originally it was reported that Cyndi Lauper was to join
hd1_8580-custom

Former Gov. Ed Rendell, Katie McGinty’s brother John McGinty (Katie was in Pittsburgh), Rep Brian Sims, and Debra Messing on a GOTV Gayborhood Bar Crawl Friday night, but my sources tell me that Cyndi never confirmed. In honor of Cyndi, Debra Messing belted out “True Colors” at Tavern on Camac, Philly’s oldest singing piano bar. She was joined in by the hundreds of Hillary fans who jammed the downstairs bar. I originally couldn’t get in the front door, so I ran downstairs through the restaurant and up the back-staircase to get this shot.

Katy

The shirt Messing was wearing was cray cray, but people on my social media loved it. I didn’t know how I would watermark my shot, as I thought it might go viral, so I wrote Hughe between the phones. It worked cause people searched on my name all weekend. If you google HughE my stuff comes up first.

Katy

As I said earlier so many Clinton celebrity events I had to miss this election cycle as I was booked to shoot client parties. My mortgage appreciates it, plus honestly life goes on and charities
need love too. Last night so many amazing charity galas were held. I covered The Harvest Ball, whose decor was spectacular as you’ll see this week in my photos. Then I headed to the Devereux Hope Gala at Vie, OMG the turnout this year was huge. It was Havana nights and everything was so Cuban cute, including the cigar maker. Across town it was the Union League’s Fall Ball, which press is never allowed to photograph so don’t expect to see those photos. A few blocks away was the CCTC Roundup, which is always a fun time, especially as folks frolic in the hay. Anywho…. after the Katy Perry concert at the Mann with Hillary Clinton, Shonda Rhimes (r) Debra Messing, Cory Booker, Madeline Albright, Katy McGinty, Dwight Evans, Bob Brady and did I mention Shonda Rhimes, Katy and friends headed for dinner.

Katy

With Philly’s own M Night Shyamalan seen here getting into his car with his wife Bhavna Vaswani . This is the end of the night as they left through the front doors of  the newly adorned 4 Bells by Inquirer’s Craig LaBan Vedge, (1221 Locust Street) whereas

Katy

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom left through the backdoor. This was a tough shot as there were 6 fans waiting when I arrived about midnight
to wait for their departure, and they were pressed up against the window, but LOVE THAT KATY PERRY AMERICAN FLAG purse
I’m always impressed how the fans find out
these things, seems someone saw them go in and put it on Social Media.

hd1_8994-custom
It was sad as well to hear them plead with Katy for a moment of her time. It’s always hard because as a fan you think you’re idol is going to stop for a moment or at least wave, but for the celebrity they’re off the clock after a certain hour. Plus if there’s more than 4 fans, it’s really hard to do so. One of the fans ran a Katy Perry blog site. So she really was in the know.

Katy

I ran into future President Cory Booker. I love him, so charismatic. I wonder if he’ll get married before his run in 2024. When I used to cover celebrities in NYC, he was dating Gayle King, Oprah’s BFF

11-6-2016-8-41-17-am-custom-copy
Still together after all these years, Nikki Minaj and Meek Mill sitting courtside at the Sixers last night. How about the kid behind them with the “side eye” or the gal trying to snap a photo, so fun. Who’s that guy next to Meek, he looks familiar?

Katy

Will Smith was at his home in Philly this past week, The Ritz, where he ran into Tony Piazza

Katy

Finally congrats to  Katie Cavuto (Food Network star, Phillies nutritionist and runs HealthyEats.com) and Ashli Mizell, award winning interior designer on their wedding this past weekend. So adorable. Go out and enjoy today, Go Eagles and Vote for Hillary please, so we don’t have to have our marriages invalidated. I don’t care if Trump held up a Rainbow Flag, he wants the my marriage to be decided by the states, not Federally. I want to keep my marriage safe.

On A Sad Note, Marilyn Russell departs Ben FM

The Fox29 ladies, from left: Jenny Joyce, Alex Holley with Marilyn Russell, BenFM who was laid off from Ben FM last week. She sent all her friends and partners in business this note Sunday. Here they are at Marilyn Russell’s branded “Women of the Week” luncheon.

If you haven’t heard I was also affected by the recent radio sale of Ben FM. After 12-years of hard work, absolute dedication and helping to build a respected brand here in Philadelphia, I was unceremoniously told my services would no longer be needed…without getting into too much detail (it’s grueling) I’ll simply ask you you please continue to be my friend, support my projects as I’ve done with you and/or for you for so many years. For me business is personal. I’m blessed to have great client relations and many clients are asking me to continue as their brand ambassador which makes me feel that it wasn’t all for naught. There are many broadcast platforms and I’m taking time to find the right one by which to continue connecting with the great community of people within my home town of Philadelphia. I’m down but not out. Please don’t forget about me ♥️👍 ~ Marilyn

Anne Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Katy Perry, Debra Messing, Meek Mill, and a Plethora of Events

Anne

Good Thursday morning. The autumn social season is in full swing. I have a client event, gala or opening every day until nearly Thanksgiving. Busy is good, my two PhillyChitChat photographers Mike Hirata and André Flewellen have been booked as well. Last Thursday and Friday we were all booked on PCC client assignments. So happy to have them or only 1/3 of the events you see here and in the media outlets would be covered. Thanks to you for stopping by to check out the photos and stories as well. Pretty exciting I hit 18ks instagram followers this week. It’s huge as I have only been on instagram for 4 years as I never thought it’d be a contender after twitpic – hahaha, Where is twitpic today? OK let’s go and read about Philly gossip.

Anne

We are THANKFULLY at the end of a very long, strange, ridiculous presidential election cycle.  Just like every presidential election the stars flood into Philly
for the Get Out The Vote #GOTV. So far this past month we’ve had Ted Danson, Gloria Steinem, Bellamy Young, Sara Bareilles, Al Franken have swung by. Today Academy Award winning actress Anne Hathaway stopped by Temple University, Bryn Mawr college, Ardmore and Phoenixville to GOTV.

11-3-2016-3-00-30-am

This weekend is going to be amazing with Stevie Wonder performing at Coda Friday night. Then in Cyndi Lauper and Debra Messing will be swinging by the Gayborhood making stops at Knock, Woodys, Tabu, and Boxers from 9PM to midnight.  (hopefully I’ll finish my Friday night job to grab a few shots of them). Then Saturday night Katy Perry at The Mann Music Center with an appearance by Hillary Clinton. For more info on some of these events click here

Stevie Wonder: Ticket Distribution: Members of the public interested in attending the concert must RSVP here or by visiting hrc.io/StevieinPA. You will be required to present your confirmation e-mail at the concert.

Katy Perry: Ticket Distribution: Members of the public interested in attending the concert must RSVP here.

Anne

You might have read about Karen Hepp moving to M-F morning news at 4 – 6am, and Lauren Johnson is headed to the Good Day Philadelphia Weekend (11/12) (Chris Murphy as you know left for a job in San Diego) at Philly.com. I just learned that Bill Anderson, Karen’s sidekick on the weekends has also moved. he can now be seen M-F reporting on the news and special interest stories for the 6, 10 and 11PM news.

Anne

I hung out with the Fox 29 crew on Monday, Halloween. They recreated the Summer Olympics and did a pretty darn good job.
Yes Mike Jerrick really is that crazy. That’s the number one question I get when people recognize me from the show.

Anne

Speaking of crazy, Meek Mill has been spotted in Da Club in Philly with wads of cash, and spending some of that cash shopping in South Philly. 11-3-2016-2-11-16-am-customToday is National Sandwich Day. Check out the two specials above, and how you can help a needy family to boot.
