#PCCBuzz Gov. Corbett Provolone Wit at Genos, AI & DUNKIN DONUTS in Ritt Sq, Ruben Amaro Jr. engaged, Plage Tahiti – Lost Our Lease?

Red Mango formerly occupied the spot at 15th and Locust Streets, but closed unceremoniously 15 months after opening, in October 2013

The location has finally found a tenant in Dunkin Donuts, which will be neighbors with the newly opened Treemont by Chip Roman which will also be located at the Aria.
Gov. Corbett stopped by Geno’s Steaks last night and ordered 2 provolone wit.

You may have heard that Plage Tahiti is moving, and merging with it’s sister store Knit Wit, located  1729 Chestnut St.

I guess they didn’t have a sign that said moving, instead there’s this very dramatic, eye catching sign announcing they lost their lease. Good news for you the markdowns are already on and between 60% – 90% through June 30, that’s 2.5 months of savings.

Jamie Schell and Sophia celebrate Jamie’s engagement to Ruben Amaro Jr. @Rouge
I ran into the duo the following day at The Philadelphia Futures “Get In The Game” and forgot to run the photo of them together.
Check out who else was at the Carlos Ruiz charity bowling event on Sunday.

Congrats to former 6ABC producer Kristie Gonzales who’s engaged to Chad Janko. Kristie is now the Promotion & Digital Brand Manager for @ABC7NY

AI was at Rumor Lounge on Saturday night. Here’s he’s hanging with Tee Fish who runs the door.

Stacey Kracher took part in the Philabundence Walk this weekend.

Congrats to Andrew Rosenthal & Jennifer Fatalevich on their engagement. Andrew introduced me to Maria Papadakis while he was attending U of Penn, he went on to Harvard and now lives in San Fran doing great thing. You might remember him as the co-founder of Happier, which made a big splash in Philly and nationwide.

Congrats to Evan Solomon for being appointed to the board for The Foundation for Breast and Prostate Health, as mentioned in the Inky yesterday.

This is just a memory taken yesterday. Hopefully today’s rain won’t knock all the buds off before you get to see how spectacular Fairmount Park looks. Have a great day. HughE

MIKE’S TRIP TO 3rd Annual Philly Farm & Food Fest on Behalf of PhillyChitChat.com, let’s see what he’s found…

I was booked on Sunday, and Mike is a big clean food, goat milk drinking guy, so he wanted to go cover the 3rd Annual Philly Farm & Food Fest on behalf of PhillychitChat. Let’s see what caught his eye…

 Mike donned his favorite T-Shirt

Fair
Food Philly and PASA (Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable
Agriculture) teamed up for the 3rd time to bring you Philly Farm & Food Fest.  Featuring over 120 local farmers,
food artisans and sustainable businesses, attendees will be able to
taste, shop, and learn their way through a variety of lectures,
demonstrations and guided tastings.

Judy Wicks was on hand and signed books

Hope Cohen was on hand to sign her latest book “Fast, Fresh and Simple”

He was surprised that someone handing out samples of ice cream had a jar that said “We Pay Our Rent With Tips” wondering if they made the $2.10 that people who really do pay their rent with tips gets.

#TBT The American Red Cross – The 14th Annual Red Ball Gala

This is like a ThrowBackThursday Post, cause it happened a month ago and it’s Thursday.

The American Red Cross held its 14th annual Gala Saturday, March 8, 2014 at the Please Touch Museum in Fairmount Park. More than 1,000 social, civic and business leaders attended the “red tie” event which featured cuisine from 30 of the finest restaurants in our area.

All proceeds from The Red Ball benefit disaster relief and Red Cross
House – The Center for Disaster Recovery, a one-of-a-kind short-term
housing facility in University City.

Co-hosts for the evening were
Deanna Durante (2nd from left) and Keith Jones (center) from NBC10; Leon LaRosa was the Red Ball
Chair,

Judge Renée Cardwell Hughes, who serves as chief executive
officer was on hand to greet the guests as they arrived.

Frank Sestito and Valerie Knight, WOGL

National MS Deadra Witt with Richard and Karen McRory-Negrin
Cool Whey and Patti Andrews
Jade Starling
Miss New Jersey 2013, Cara McCollum.

All proceeds from The Red Ball benefit disaster relief and Red Cross
House – The Center for Disaster Recovery, a one-of-a-kind short-term
housing facility in University City. Every year, hundreds of local
families find refuge at this facility and begin their recovery from
fires, floods, and other disasters.  Red Cross
House is a model for disaster recovery nationwide. It offers families a
stable and supportive environment while they work to rebuild their
lives. Since opening its doors in April 2003, Red Cross House has been called “home” by more than 10,000 people who had no place else to turn in their greatest time of need.

WOW what a dessert spread. This year’s Red Cross theme was Hollywood, so Maryellen made chocolate Oscars.

The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies about 40 percent of the nation’s blood; teaches skills that save lives;
provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members
and their families. The Red Cross
is a not-for-profit organization that depends on volunteers and the
generosity of the American public to perform its mission. For more

As some of you know my sister Judy passed away of Ovarian Cancer in 2009.

Every year I’ve thrown a fundraiser for Gilda’s Club of SJ. In three years we reached a personal goal and raised $30,00, but because of time constraints I stopped having the event in 2013.
The Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation unites with the Community to: – Educate both women and physicians about ovarian cancer – Advocate for early diagnostic testing and more effective treatments – Raise funds to advance research towards a cure – Offer support to ovarian cancer patients and their families.
My entire family, including cousins, aunts etc are participating in the Sandy Rollman Walk. If you can please support my sister Margaret’s sponsor page.

Sir Links A Lot – More of the Weeks Party Pictures, Inside Stories and Links to My Media Outlets

The Philadelphia Social Season is in full swing, and I’ve been hitting up as many events as I can fit in. Here are the links to some of the events I’ve gone to, and if I’ve photographed you hopefully you’ll find your photos there. If you’re not there don’t fret, some of these were client shoots and you might find the photos on the hosts Facebook Page or other SM.

Here are shots of my two favorite cakes at City of Hope’s Let Them Eat Cake. Over 500 people attended.

This is a photo of the room at 645PM

Either way it was a great event, with delicious cakes and amazingly decorated.

Here’s the line to the first cake station.

Here’s the Link to my column on Philly.com I hope next year they return to a larger venue like last year’s Merion Catering, because it is an awesome event and it grows every year.

This year nearly every vendor had their cake samples wrap individually, as per the crack down of the health department.

QATAR AIRWAYS LAUNCH PARTY

I was so impressed by what the Qatar team did with the Ritz-Carlton. They removed all the furniture from the Ten Arts lounge, put in a few high tops and a buffet table, a stage for a band and very little seating. It was a very enjoyable cocktail hour.
This was the hallway leading to the ballroom downstairs. They draped the walls and put photos up of what you can expect to find when you fly Qatar. The flower arrangements are from Beautiful Blooms.  For the first time ever the stage was placed on the right side of the room. It was a great idea.
 The food was delicious.
Maria Papadakis was the Emcee
Boyz II Men were excited to perform and pose for photos afterwards.
Here’s the columns with the rest of the stories in PhillyMag.com and Philly.com
East Passyunk Easter Egg Hunt
So fun on Saturday
One of the first Easter Egg Hunts of the season and it was packed. It was supposed to be from 11 to 1PM but ran right up to 2PM

THE COOPER HOSPITAL RED HOT GALA
Great event. The Vie was the most crowded ever, It was a great big party, random seating, a huge dance floor. It was all about raising money, and partying. Chair for the event was George Norcross.

Party Photos: Young Friends Winter Gala A Royal Affair

The Young Friends of the Philadelphia Museum of Art held a black tie affair in honor of Treasures from Korea: Arts and Culture of the Joseon Dynasty, 1392-1910. This full-scale survey is a rare opportunity for American audiences to see some of Korea’s artistic masterpieces and runs through May 26.

The party was in full swing when I arrived, as I had been at Valley Forge casino shooting the CHOP event with Rob Base. That weekend I photographed 13 events between Thursday and Sunday, and somehow this was slipped through the cracks of being posted. Here it is.  Stephanie Searles and Jenna Pellecha
Diedre Sawinski and Ernest Poon, co-chair of the evenings galal
Mike Delbene (is excited for the Mann Music Center Gala on June 25 with Diana Ross) and David Lanza
 Adam Bartles and Lisa Carosella
Justin Jeffers, Tim Engelke and Lauren Lynch
Joseph Soler and Mandy Buhle, loved the Korea art exhibit. Was different then they expected, very dramatic and beautiful.

March 2, 2014 – May 26, 2014

 Michelle Northova and Danielle Green
Jill Betters, 2012 Sexy Single, and Philadelphia Crossteam Coalition with Phil Consuegra, Director of Development Penn Charter.
Brian and Karen Kelley. They were thrilled to be out and about, as they just had a baby 8 months earlier, and this was their first time leaving him with a sitter.
Join the Young Friends of the Art Museum Today.
Michael and Liz Grimaldi struck a dramatic pose as I was being ushered out the door at Midnight. Everyone was headed to the afterparty at Level 33 at the Loews Hotel, except moi as I was tired from a long day of shooting. I hit up the Broad Street Diner with Ian Crumm, who was on the Young Friends of the Art Museum committee.
