PARTY LIKE YOU’RE GOLDEN
10 Arts’ Red Carpet Party on March 2

The 3rd annual party
includes Peroni Nastro Azzuro, cocktails from Casamigos Tequila &
Caliche Rum, lite fare, a dessert bar, best-dressed awards and is hosted
by Philly fashionistas Kristin
Detterline and Jimmy Contreras

must RSVP:

The Red Carpet Party is free for guests age 21 and over who RSVP. RSVP is requested by Thursday, Feb. 27, email
10arts@vlahospr.com or call 267-687-0224. Space is limited. 10 Arts Lounge is located on Philadelphia’s Avenue of the Arts at 10 S. Broad Street.
More details below:

PHILADELPHIA (Feb. 16,
2014) – The Academy Awards, Hollywood’s biggest night of glamour,
fashion and celebrity, is just a weeks away, and Philly will be rolling
out its own red carpet at
10 Arts Lounge to celebrate.

On Sunday, March 2, 10 Arts Lounge at The Ritz-Carlton, Philadelphia, will play host to the 3rd Annual Philadelphia Red Carpet Party during the 86th
Annual Academy Awards.
The event will feature complimentary beer from Peroni, cocktails made
with Casamigos and Caliche, lite fare and a dessert bar by Chef Nathan
Lingle.

The party
– free for guests 21 and over – begins at 6pm with the complimentary
cocktails, food and desserts during red carpet arrivals, followed by $8
drink specials, champagne bottle service
and a live screening of the Oscar awards ceremony at 7pm. (Unlike in Hollywood, guests are invited to arrive at any time during the event.)

“The Oscars
red carpet is one of the most-watched, and most elegant, events in
Hollywood. Honestly, what better place to take all of that glamour in
than with a fashionable crowd of your
friends in the lobby of The Ritz-Carlton, Philadelphia?” said co-host
Jimmy Contreras.

Contreras and
Philadelphia Style magazine Editor-in-chief Kristin Detterline
will be offering live commentary – sassy and unedited – as guests watch
the broadcast projected on big screens in the soaring rotunda. The
evening will also include red carpet looks by Saks
Fifth Avenue and complimentary gift bags for the first 200 guests.

The dress code is
“cocktail chic” and Contreras and Detterline will select a best-dressed
lady, best-dressed gentleman and best-dressed couple at the party
for awards. The prizes will include
dinner for two at 10 Arts, a spa gift certificate from Richel D’Ambra
and, for the lucky couple, an overnight stay at The Ritz-Carlton,
Philadelphia.

UBER – the on-demand car service – is offering new users a ride to or free the party up to $20. (When requesting the car via the smartphone app, use code 10REDCARPET.)

It’s Back to Rittenhouse Square for Stephanie Lutzo’s Adresse Boutique

Nearly a year ago Michael and Stefanie Lutzo’s Adresse boutique left it’s beautiful Rittenhouse shop for it’s “semi-permanent” new digs in Old City,

vowing a return to the Rittenhouse Square area in the future. That day has come.

Although she loved the new location at 45 N. 2nd Street, Old City minus a few glitches, I hear she’s excited to return to Rittenhouse Square and we’re excited for her to return to Rittenhouse Row, and Walnut Street, which she didn’t think was possible in an interview she had with Inquirer fashion reporter Elizabeth Wellington back in July, “Walnut Street is no longer an option for us,” Lutzo said. “They want
companies they don’t have to worry will make the rents. At the end of
the day, they don’t want to rent to Stefanie Lutzo.”
1921 Walnut, the McKean-Moore House will be the new home of the Stefanie Lutzo’ store, Adresse.
It was built in 1897 by the firm
of Walter Cope and John Stewardson, who were known for their Collegial
style architecture on the campuses of Bryn Mawr, Penn and Princeton.
More recently it’s been home to a coffee shop, and then rented out as an event space.
Look for the Adresse triumphant return by the time the last snow pile melts or before the temps hit 100F.

#whyilovephilly – Philadelphian’s are Resilient and The Hugging Man Encounter

Yesterday while I was out chronicling how resilient Philadelphian’s were coping with the latest record snowfall

It would be nice if the City shoveled the Spring Garden Street Bridge’s sidewalk. It’s the link between West Philly and Fairmount where a lot of the students live. It’s these little things that might have the kids saying, after graduation I won’t move away as the City seemed to care and not see me tumble over the low rail into the Schuylkill below or get hit by a bus walking in the street, as I make my way to school, just saying.

I came across Andrey Tsvikevich – The Free Hug Guy, and his photographer – Yury Belazor. I decided to follow them on their journey on hugging receptive Philadelphian’s check out those photos here in my PhillyMag column/

Photos: Nicole Miller Hosts “Donors Are Heroes” Charity Shopping Event

The night before what I could only describe as #snOMG the pre-Valentine snowstorm named after Angelina Jolie’s son Pax, the social season was hot with several parties all over town. It was a hard choice as I wanted to pet the doggies, and network at the Union League, but in the end I headed to parties where my friends were, the ones that show up at my charity beckon call, and this past year I called on them a lot.

First up was Mary Dougherty’s Nicole Miller shop in the Bellevue. Mary rolled out the red carpet for another charity shopping event, this one for “Donor’s Are Heros

The idea for the shopping night was Lynsie Solomon, who has really become a frontrunner in volunteering for charity organizations in the past few years. Since I’ve known her she’s been involved in the American Cancer Association, she was the first women under 30 to chair the women’s fashion show at the Union League *& first Jewish women to boot, a few years back she got involved in Donor’s are Hero’s and now she is starting a young friends group for The Wistar Institute (BTW mark your calendars for this happy hour.)
Stephen Feinberg and Sylvia Feinberg.
Guest and Jan Weinstock, Vice President, Administration and General Counsel of Gift of Life Donor Program and its affiliates, Gift of Life Family House and Transplant Foundation.

Entertainment from the Phila Art Institute
Laverne Clark and Tiffany Nicholson. That’s Laverne featured in the poster on the Nicole Miller window. She’s a Grandmother, bowler and a Heart recipient. Here’s her STORY
10 percent of everyone’s total purchase was donated to Donors are Hero’s. That might not seem a lot, but during the last event that I attended of this nature, an event co-hosted by Christie Honigman and Brian Lipstein produced proceeds of $2,000 which went to the Academy Ball Restoration.
Deena Hirsch and Danielle Hershman

THE PARTY IS FRIDAY, APRIL 4, 2014 at 8:00 PM!!

(It’s being held at the Four Season’s, who wrote me the other day about a tweet I posted where I said they are losing their flagship name 12/31/14 and concentrating on the new hotel in the future Comcast building as I heard from a few people and then read in published reports.

 Christia Donohue
Director of Public Relations wrote: Four Seasons will continue to manage its
existing hotel at 1 Logan Square and assist the owner with the transition
to a new brand prior to the opening of the new hotel in 2017.)

Nicole Miller has specialty Philly ties, handkerchiefs and boxers
I see Ian M Crumm, Katie English and Danielle Hankin
Stefanie and Jeff Marblestone

Sharon Pinkenson, executive director GPFO and Katie Griffin, Katie Griffin Casting
Deena Hirsch, Tamie Kaufman and Renee Freeman
Laura Weathers and Barbara Katz Chobert

Jillian Sorkid, Stephanie Marbleston, Jason Cevera and Rachel Luber Cevera
Caitlin Shmidheiser and Jennifer Birch

We are getting ready for another amazing night of raising awareness
and funds for Donors Are Heroes. Come experience THE Party with over 600
guests at the Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia, scrumptious food from 11
restaurants and caterers, rocking music and over the top decor.
These funds will go a long way in helping us maintain our public
awareness programs, school summits and teaching initiatives. All of
which are geared to educate and dispel the myths surrounding becoming an
organ donor and the need for life-saving, life-enhancing transplants.
