Photos: GO SEE KATIE COURIC Winners & Trip

Last week if you were following my Twitter @iphillychitchat you would have read about my trip to NYC with 6ABC to with the winners from the “GO SEE KATIE” sweepstakes.

It was a smashing success with over 4,000 entries! They picked 20 winners who could bring a guest to the event. Afterwards we ate dinner in the ABC Studios cafeteria. We didn’t see anyone in person, but there were a lot of ABC stars hanging around on the wall. Diane Sawyer, Kelly and Michael, etc

A few of the peeps on the trip included: Maria Ioannides, Mike Monsell, producer 6ABC, Alicia
Vitarelli, anchor,  Megan Egan, Courtney Ann Conigliaro
and Kristy Sevag, 6ABC PR Rep Sevag Creative. They taped 3 shows that day. One was on on Friday. Today it’s

Mo 11/19: Sally Field, Tony Bennett and Tuesday Giuliana & Bill Rancic, and Lauren Scruggs, the gal who walked into the plane’s propeller last year. Now I understand how that happened.

After the trip I went back to the studio with Alicia to pick up donations from her co-workers for her family who lives on Staten Island. They were very generous. While I was there Brian Taff, Anchor, gave me a tour of the studio. WOW I was so impressed with the state of the art studio, as well as seeing the legendary Jim Gardner at work. I still can’t believe he knows my name.

2012 Philly RAW Artist Awards at G Lounge – Fashion, Fun & Frolic

This week I was busy, out of town, getting no sleep, writing columns for my other outlets, working with lots of clients, tweeting too much and watching gossip girls from season 1 to current.  Thank you so much for a fantastic, super dooper week, even though I was tardy every day. Next week I will catch up.

Last night the RAW Artist Awards were held at G lounge in Philadelphia. I’ve covered this monthly event several times on PCC, as each show or exhibition is new and exciting. Raw Artist is a national organization, every last Thursday in Cities across the nation they put on a show celebrating art and it’s creative industries like fashion, art, music, make up and hair. It’s a 18+ ; 21 to drink.  Fashionable attire kinda night & did I mention fun?  $15.00 online, $20.00 at the door. For those people who say they can never meet anyone, well let your hair down and come to one of these events. They’re laid back, non-pretentious and from all walks of life.

Maria Papadakis is co-host of this monthly event, along with Frederick Calalang who is the City Director for RAW of the Philadelphia Raw Artists. Visiting from NYC and acting as a the fashion judge Joy Adaeze Style Blogger for joylovesfashion.com, Fashion Stylist, former ESSENCE.com style blogger, Visionary, Vintage Fanatic

Also on hand last night was Mariel Rojo, she competted in the RAWards 2011 Fashion Designer of the Year last year, and brought it home to Philly!!! with Joseph Balestra

It was crowded.

Raw Artist is growing in popularity, so much so that in 2013 it will be held at Lit at 2nd and Spring Garden every last Thursday of the night. I’m so bummed as it was an easy stop off for me on my nightly excursions, but I will make it a destination because it really is one of those unique events that Philadelphian’s celebrate. It’s open to the public so check it out. The last show at G Lounge is 12/13/12

Event & Pixs: There’s a New Cabaret In Town: Jen Creed Sells out Serafina

A few weeks ago I told you about Serafina’s new fabulous Upstairs Lounge “Singing, supper and spirits with Jen Creed”

It’s what I’ve been talking about for years. A cabaret venue similar to NYC’s Cafe Carlyle in NYC.  Mike and I headed over there earlier this month. The place was packed for the newly conceptualized supper cabaret club, which Serafina hosts once a month on the second floor. Dinner is served family style at 8PM, then Jen Creed comes on about 9PM. She was magnificent. She moves about the audience, engages in conversation, drops tidbits, and does a trivia contest for prizes. The food is delicious, and plentiful. Then it’s coffee and desert. Well worth the $35
One of my favorite songs – “Defying Gravity.”  It’s from the Broadway show Wicked, which I’ve seen 6 times.

Jen Creed and bestie & PR rep and creator of Serafina’s new fabulous Upstairs Lounge
Christie Honigman, The Honigman Group (PR & Events) Contact her for bookings & information on how you can perform at the Supper Club at Serafina’s. Christie@thehonigmangroup.com)

One of my favorite songs: Don’t Rain On My Parade – which I hum to myself when people tell me no, or try and discourage me.

Jen is every first Friday of the month at Serafina.  December 7 is Holiday Cabaret and January is Sinatra!  Seating is
limited; please reserve ASAP 215-977-7755

ONE DIRECTION – SONY PICTURES PRODUCING & Super Size Me actor Morgan Spurlock to make 3D MOVIE STARRING

SONY PICTURES PRODUCING 3D MOVIE STARRING
ONE DIRECTION

Morgan Spurlock to Direct Behind-the-Scenes Film, Which TriStar Pictures will release on August 30, 2013 (Labor Day Weekend)

Los Angeles November 13, 2012 – Sony Pictures announced today that it’s
making a 3D film showcasing London-based global music sensation One
Direction. Acclaimed documentary filmmaker Morgan Spurlock (Super Size Me) will direct the film, which TriStar Pictures will release on August 30, 2013 (Labor Day weekend).

“This is an incredible opportunity and an amazing moment in time for the
band,” said director/producer Spurlock.  “To capture this journey and
share it with audiences around the world will be an epic undertaking
that I am proud to be a part of.”

Simon Cowell noted: “I’m delighted we’re making this film and Morgan is
the perfect person to give that access-all-areas, behind-the-scenes look
into what it’s like to be One Direction today. What the band have
achieved is incredible, they and their fans have made history around the
world – this is for them.”

Spurlock emerged in 2004 with his Academy Award®-nominated feature Super
Size Me, in which he subjected himself to eating only at McDonald’s for
30 days. He has since gone on to produce other acclaimed documentary
features such as Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden?, The Greatest
Movie Ever Sold, and Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan’s Hope, as well as
non-fiction TV series including FX’s30 Days and CNN’s upcoming Inside
Man.  He was nominated for an Emmy Award and Writers Guild Award in 2010
for the Fox TV Special The Simpsons 20th Anniversary Special: In 3-D!
On Ice!

One Direction – Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and
Louis Tomlinson – were discovered by Simon Cowell on the U.K.’s “The X
Factor” in 2010. The band quickly gained a following to become one of
the competition’s all-time most popular acts, finishing in the final
three and garnering a gigantic and loyal fanbase along the way. In March
2012, One Direction’s debut album, “Up All Night,” made U.S. history,
as it was the first time a U.K. group’s debut album entered the U.S.
Billboard 200 chart at No. 1. The band has sold over 13 million records
worldwide. Today, One Direction released their sophomore album, “Take Me
Home,” which includes the No. 1 single, “Live While We’re Young.”

Morgan Spurlock, Ben Winston, Simon Cowell, and Adam Milano will produce
the film.  Executive Producers will be Richard Griffiths, Harry Magee,
Will Bloomfield, Matthew Galkin, Jeremy Chilnick and Doug Merrifield.*
Hannah Minghella, President of Production for Columbia Pictures, and
Lauren Abrahams, Vice President of Production for Columbia Pictures,
will oversee production for the studio.
