Want to Be On Dispatches From Elsewhere? Quest Love and George Wendt Spotted…

We’re counting down the weeks until the longest filming project in Philly ends, Dispatches from Elsewhere. In all the years I’ve been covering filming in Philly this is the first production that has been really cool on set for moi to cover, and I thank them. Plus what a great cast, so friendly with us where ever they’ve gone. This will surely be the summer of Segel and Andre 3000.

I’ve purposely been vague about the plot-line of the show as I really want you to watch it when it comes on AMC TV in the first quarter of 2020, a source on the set told me, but I came across this nugget online. You might be picked to be on the show if you complete these tasks. I might do it myself. I do know that a city wide scavenger hunt is part of the plot as a walk on role was auctioned off for this scene back in the spring at the Rittenhouse Row patron party. (Scroll to 2nd photo for directions to be on show.)

The AMC TV Show is filmed in Philly, and is BASED in Philly, as I reported on Fox 29 last week. Yeah for Philly!!

I met PCC reader Mary Goldner and sister Andrea Goldner at William Penn’s 375th Birthday on Friday, and she shared this photo of Sally Field with me when Dispatches shot near 3rd and Vine earlier this month. Another noted tidbit about the photo Andre’ 3000 took the picture for them, but didn’t realize he was the popular singer until later. It’s one of the few Field photos out there with fans. Sally was fairly low key in Philly, only venturing to Whole Foods on South Street and a few dinners at a.kitchen. Thanks to the Goldner sisters who are from a philanthropic family dating back to the 1800s in generosity.

Found this random shot of Jason Segal spending time in Rittenhouse Square one day. Love this gal mimicking his pose.
Congrats to Albert Lee or Mr Philadelphia as he’s been deemed for over a decade, on his wedding to Danielle Saturday. He ran into Questlove in the lobby of the Monaco Hotel on his wedding day. Ironically the Q man is exactly the reason I missed Al’s wedding.
Danielle Sievers and Albert Lee

I photographed the Steppingstone Scholars Gala last night and my start time was moved up to 5PM to hash out the details of Q shots. So bummed to miss their wedding at 5:30pm, but so happy for Al and Danielle’s forever life!!

Our area as you know has been hot and happening with major Hollywood movies filming here, but slipping under the radar is a local movie by philanthropist and business man Ray Martin with two household names attached Gervase Peterson of Survivor fame and George Wendt, from Cheers. Ray tells me “You might think this Movie is called Stealing a Survivor because Gervase was on Survivor but this Movie is more then that it’s about a Father and son surviving the loss of there mother and wife and trying to save a family business it’s also about two guys down on there luck who form a friendship that ultimately helps them both. There is also a cast of unforgettable characters that the audience will meet along the way.” Look for the movie to make the festival rounds in 2020. Check out ML Media News for more on the movie which filmed over the summer.

Philly Gossip: Sally Field and Andre 3000 Jump Rope on Dispatches from Elsewere, Plus a New The Servant Teaser

Hope you’re out and about enjoying this beautiful day. I have a feeling that we are now w/i months of our first snow storm.

The new IPhone takes great photos, but not so great through windows with yellow street lights…just saying.

Thanjua welcoming Jason Segal to her neighborhood, he’s a few feet in front of her.

Thursday I started getting tips that Dispatches from Elsewhere with Jason Segel, André 3000, Sally Field, Eve Lindley and Richard E. Grant, would be filming on Locust St, but as I am in the middle of Social Season I didn’t think I’d be able to catch them. Luck be a lady, after my Friday night event I heard they were just starting to film. I was a little surprised they could secure a set on Locust St on a Friday night, but they did. I headed to my favorite deli Schlessinger’s and got a front row seat.

Although the reflective window was a bit to deal with I think you can make out Andree 3000 and Sally Field.

Although I had my camera with me, but I took these photos with my phone as I didn’t want to create a ruckus as sometimes happens when a paparazzo is on the scene. Everyone was great and recognized me, including Jason Segel who gave me a thumbs up and greeted me with a big smile when he saw me through the window at Schlessinger’s. That was very nice.

Earlier in the day they were filming at 832 Lombard Street. Thanks to a PhillyChitChat instagram follower for sending me this shot. There’s a smiling Jason in front of the window. If you’re keeping track, this is probably filming for the 6th episode of the 10 episode series. Filming is scheduled to continue through November.

M Night Shyamalan’s new Apple TV Series formerly called Crumpet, now called The Servant has dropped. The new TV series was filmed in the Philadelphia area. See you tomorrow on PhillyChitChat. Follow me on Instagram, Twitter and FB for up to the moment happenings.
