The Rest of the Photos: 4th Annual Shyamaween bash

I hope everyone had an awesome week. What a great Halloween Week. I think this year more than any there were more parties, and more people serious about dressing up for the spooktacular event. No where was it more evident than at this year’s Shyamaween, and how excited was I that I was able to photograph the event. So grateful for the opportunity, as most of you know it was a bucket list item for me. I’m a huge fan of The Shyamalan’s having photographed them over the past decade and being familiar with their work, and charity work. Plus they throw one heck of a party. I didn’t stay long as I was also shooting Philly Fights Cancer Round 3 the same night. Thankfully they were both located near exits on 95 so I was able to jet between each of the events. I started with Whoopi & John Legend at 5 – 730PM, then Shyamaween, then back to PFC and Earth Wind & Fire. I’ll write about that event Monday or Tuesday. Amazing, so beautiful too.

M. Night and Dr. Bhavna Shyamalan hosted their fourth annual Shyamaween bash on Saturday, October 28th at the Punch Line Club in Fishtown. The tagline for the event is very appropriately: Be Bad. Do Good.  The 400+ guests, all dressed in wickedly good costumes, partied the night away for a great cause!    Guests enjoyed a special performance by two-time Grammy nominee Andra Day and then danced to the wee hours to the spinning of DJ Ed Christof.  Catering for the main event was provided by the Vetri Family, and the Shyamalans’ friends Kate Jacoby and Rich Landau, celebrated chef owners of vegan restaurants Vedge, V Street, and Whiz Kid, provided late-night eats at the after party. All proceeds from the party benefit the M. Night Shyamalan Foundation  a charitable foundation that invests in emerging leaders whose grassroots efforts are putting an end to poverty and inequality in their communities around the world.

The M. Night Shyamalan Foundation supports remarkable leaders, through their organizations, working to remove the barriers created by poverty and inequality, which prevent individuals and communities from unleashing their full potential. They do this in the United States by closing the educational achievement gap focusing on MNSF’s five tenets. They do this in developing countries by assuring that basic human needs are met and rights are protected, and ultimately providing increased access to educational opportunities.

I like it, ultimate tribute to wear a costume where both writer, director and star will be attending the same party If you don’t see your photo here, it may still show up in Philly Mag print magazine in January. Or may be found at one of the media outlets below:

First we’ll start with a celebrity. Actor James McAvoy was M Night Shyamalan’s annual Halloween bash called Shyamaween, which was held Saturday night at The Fillmore, at the Foundry. McAvoy is starring in the upcoming M Night film called “Split”; it was during that shoot he met production assistant Lisa Liberati
Since the filming ended nearly a year ago, James has been spotted all over town, in Northern Libs, around Rittenhouse Square at 30th Street Station. I like that he’s smitten with a

M. Night Shyamalan’s New Untitled Movie Starring James McAvoy & More Cast News – Weddings & Tidbits

 M. Night Shyamalan has tapped Heery’s Casting to find extras to appear in his new “untitled movie.” One name that is connected with the project, James McAvoy, most notable for X-Men: Days of Future Past.

He’s going to take over the role previously being eyed by Joaquin Phoenix.  Jason Blum, who paired with the director on Universal’s recent horror film The Visit, is producing the project. Marc Bienstock also produces, while Ashwin Rajan and Steven Schneider are on board as exec producers. The production office opened in Philly last week, and things are underway for another great success, after the sleeper hit Wayward Pines this past summer starring Matt Dillon.

Tomorrow I’ll have photos of the two weddings I did attend. Crazy busy wedding weekend it was. So happy for all my friends.

Local guy Derek Michael got a great selfie with Shania Twain when she appeared in Bethlehem last week.
