The obesity rate among Philadelphia’s high school students is 17 percent, which is 5 points higher than the national rate. An estimated 51 percent of Philly’s poor children are obese. Compare that to the city’s overall obesity rate of 40 percent, and the fact becomes clear that this problem is one that deserves considerable attention.

Mayor Nutter who is one of the healthiest mayors in Philadelphia history, was on hand to say a few words as well as to introduce a 30 minute documentary done on the link between poverty in Philly and obesity.

NBC10’s Lori Wilson was the mistress of ceremony. (She’s the hardest working women in the news biz and very charitable. I’ve seen her as the mistress of ceremonies at about 7 events in the past 10 days.)

 Last week the Top of the Towers was the site for the American Heart Association’s Red Dress Preview Party. it was a great night filled with amazing views and a great student runway show with the design students from Philadelphia University!

After being open for about a year, the boys did a little sprucing up and decided to have a re-launch party to celebrate the new look.  What better way than to have to celebrate with a few beautiful ladies competing in a bikini contest.

A few extras including John Mitchell (center). You probably recognize John from HBO’s “Broadway Empire” as well as several other projects he’s been in.

I think the picture car drivers have a stressful job, especially when they have to reset, which means driving backwards avoiding the hundreds of fans who want to get where they’re going after a scene is shot.

Now that the weather is finally getting warm, patio dining is all the rage, and catching the wave of euthisiam is Sullivan’s Steakhouse in King of Prussia.  After several months of construction, including building a new event dining room, the patio was finally ready for a proper opening party. To celebrate Sullivan’s presented a $5,000 check to Meals on Wheels, which will provide 2,000 meals to people in need in the area.
